Why would it?

Sure there are benefits, But single life is best suited for individuals that live that lifestyle. I was a family man for 19 years before my divorce. Now I'm single and live alone. All my friends say I got it made because I have two vehicles, a good job, no dependents and freedom, freedom, freedom. To me life is more fulfilling when you have someone to come home to, A loving companion that is interested in your day, children that save all of today's questions until get home, even a whining dog that would make you think he hasn't eaten in days. These were the the things I had become accustomed to.

In our society where the value of family has depleted, people like myself are adjusting to this new way of the world. If you are always on the go, like to party, like the dating game or simply like quiet peaceful evenings at home, then sure there are benefits.

If you've found someone that you're willing to be with and who makes you happy, who loves you and you love them, well then surely life with them would be so much better than without. If you are with someone but they don't make you happy, if the only thing they ever do is bring tears of sorrow, then why stay? Perhaps it's better for you if you were alone in that situation. If you don't have anyone, then enjoy the benefits, never forgetting the benefits that come with being together with someone are many too.

There are pros and cons to both situations and yes, although the world is losing its moral values for relationships in general, regardless of the people involved - be it mother, spouse, lover, son - relationships have deteriorated and been devalued. Living single means answering to no one but yourself and being able to have the 'freedom' to do anything that you want, but also to have to live through life's joys and sorrows without having anyone to share them with. Perhaps that's what some people need, to be alone without anyone in the picture. Others need people around them. It's different for every individual and every situation is unique. People just have to find their own comfort zone, their own suitable environment in which they can exist or co-exist in happiness.

The only reason it's deteriorating is because people don't care..You make your life what you want it..If single life is what you want then go for it..But having a family with a husband and kids is great too..I love being married and having my kids around or talking on the phone is great..People just need to give a little more to make their lives happy

What difference does it make what's happening with family life in many societies of the world? For that matter, what difference does it make that the husband and wife next door bicker and fight and threaten each other with divorce for the whole neighborhood to hear? All your worried about is your marriage and your family. You and your spouse are the ones who make that work, and what's happening world wide has no influence.

Now, if you want to live single and forgo marriage and a family because the trend scares you, you can enjoy yourself no end. Sure, living single has its benifits. It is what you make of it too. Good luck.

I know this is my own personal opinion but If you are not involved in a committed relationship then why bother? I see several questions on here where they invite a third partner into the bed..... Not good at all......... YES for many it is vastly deteriorating. The worst of it is that lots of children are probably involved which is very tragic...... And they should not have to pay for their parents moral stupidity. I learn several things on here, and I value my family even more. Don't settle down unless you know you have the same beliefs as the one you want to spend your life with. I am very thankful that my hubby and I are on the same page. To each other and our children.. Best wishes to you.

Life is deteriorating? Are we talking about animals? Rain forests? Mother Nature? Human kindness?

Cause I know it's not people and their population.
