My cat started hissing at me about an hour ago. He was sitting in my lap and just wigged out on me. He looks at me like I'm trying to kill him, hisses, and runs away. Then he comes back, sits in my lap, is good to go, then wigs out again. What is going on with him???

I do not have any lovers, I'm married and he's overseas.

I wasn't petting him. And now he walks by and hisses.

My husband has never been around the cat. He's only seen pics, and on the web cam.

If your cat is old then his brain might give him strange thoughts like your a threat to him. Or he might have negative brain activity and should be taken to a vet. It can also be that he's in heat if he's not fixed. But I'd take him to the vet gust in case. I hope he gets better.

Oh, well since he's a kitten he's probably not in heat. The case can also be that his eyesight isn't great or the fact that he is very small and since your bigger than him he might feel threatened.

Your cat might have gotten startled from a shadow or bird in a window. He might have been startled from noise outside such as cars driving by. Maybe your cat is autistic, and sitting on your lap for too long might do something to his senses, just like autistic children.

He might have a sore spot that you touch accidentally when you pet him.

Could be something about you... Have you done something recently? Like use his litterbox or something? (j/k) But could also be something that is bothering him around there...
