I think the original spelling was "Wojski" and as Wikipedia says:
The Wojski was an officer in medieval Poland, responsible for the security of voivodships or districts at times when voivods and castellans had accompanied the szlachta (nobility) to war.
With time, the wojski's responsibilities were take over by starostas, and "wojski" became an honorary district office in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
Wojski koronny - Crown Wojski
Wojski litewski - Lithuanian Wojski
Wojski wiekszy - Major Wojski
Wojski mniejszy - Minor Wojski
Wojski grodzki - City Wojski
Wojski zamkowy - Castle Wojski
By the way, there is one famous fictional figure named "Wojski Hreczecha". He's present in our great national piece of literature "Pan Tadeusz" by Adam Mickiewicz.

that is a miss-spelled polish word. in fact its not polish. sorry :)
its his last name. its just a name! my uncles last name is choromanski. ski and ko at the end of a last name means its polish!

That isnt a word that exists, there is a word pronounced similarly to it "Wojsko" which means army...
