Call the local SPCA or Animal Humane Society in your area and file a report over the phone.

Tell them what you saw, etc. If it just the fact the house is dirty and smells of urine this is not much of a case. But if they are hitting the dogs, kicking them, or multiple dogs are inside and feces and everything is all over, then there is a case.

Make the call and let the authorities decide.

There's a few places you can go. :-)

1) The humane society. Tell them the situation and have the address. You can launch a formal complaint with them.

2) contact your city or town hall and leave a complaint with them. Some cities, like my own, have an animal services department separate from the humane society.

3) Call the police. Sometimes they can help, sometimes they can't. It depends on the situation. I'd call just in case. Sometimes they work in conjunction with the humane society and animal services. Sometimes bad smells can be a code violation and the cops can come in for an inspection.

4) If it's an apartment or a rented home, complain to the landlord! They can come in and do a unit inspection.

Good luck!

Pick up the phone and call Animal Control and make a complaint. A dirty house is not abuse.A starving dog, a neglected dog, a physically beaten dog are examples of abuse. An old dog is not in itself abuse. Know what you are talking about and try to be anonymous. It's not worth losing a friendship over your perception of abuse. Good luck and be thoughtful and precise.

Grow up. That is called training. It may not be up to your standards but it is a viable means of training. The dogs are unphased by it because it is a form of training. It is your fault for not checking into a trainer before taking the dogs. And what were you doing leaving your dogs at a trainer? You're the one who has to train your own dogs. The trainer trains you. The checks and backgrounds that should be done should've been done by YOU. All you had to do was sit in on a class before signing up. All you had to do was take part in the class you took your dogs to. If you can't be bothered to check out a trainer and then take part in the class I have to wonder how much you are neglecting your dogs in other ways in the name of being an "animal lover". I hope you get counter sued because you're not going to win this frivolous lawsuit.

I don't think people should be reported just because they don't keep their dogs like YOU think they should. Abuse is when animals are being beaten or are not fed, NOT because the house smells.

As long as the dogs are fed and housed, and not beaten, MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS! Just because they have different standards then you does not mean abuse!

Chances are they would be euthanized if seized. Do you think a dog is better off DEAD than in a house that smells?

Age not matter. Call your animal shelter as soon as possible. I have a dog and I love her very much and I don't tolerate this kind of behavior. If you can't take care of a puppy than is better to give him away to a person who love dogs or to a shelter.

YES!! You can do something! Call the police! Animal cruelty is ILLIGAL and they can be fined/ARRESTED! You can send an annonymous tip so they'll never know it was you. The police can forward the call to the appropriate people, such as animal cops or humane investigators. Most people don't realise that animal cruelty is getting pretty serious- they can be fined over $1,000 and/or do jail time! You're on the right track and your heart is in the right place!

That is so sad. Call you local Animal Shelter and tell them what is going on, you can also tell them that you want to remain anonymous and don't want to give your name because they are Friends of yours. They will let you remain anonymous.
Good Luck.
Save the dogs!
It is great that you care.
