yes because it's a problem in the eyes and lenses won't help.

Yes, color lenses will only block or reduce certain colors from being seen. A blue lens allows blue through. The color blind person is usually missing one or more of the three cone shaped photoreceptor cells in the eye. If he is missing all three then only his rod shaped receptors are functioning and he can only perceive blacks, whites and greys. The only way a red color blind person could see red is to shift the colors in some way (special camera and TV). Of course then they would miss out on tthe color that was replaced. The shifted colors would of course still be seen as say blue but the red could now be at least differentiated from the background. It’s been shown that people process colors pretty much in the same way, that when I see red and you see red we see and perceive it in the same way.

Yes,

According to Wikipedia:
"Color blindness, or color vision deficiency, in humans is the inability to perceive differences between some or all colors that other people can distinguish. It is most often of genetic nature, but may also occur because of eye, nerve, or brain damage, or due to exposure to certain chemicals."

Color contact lenses do not affect the way a person sees color, they are cosmetic and only change the color of the person's iris. The light still enters the black spot of the eye called the pupil. Over this are that contact lens is clear.

Once you are colorblind there is no way to reverse the problem, currently. Genetic color blindness is caused by either a lack of the cones on the retina that can detect colors, or something missing in the brain. Damage to the eye, optic nerve, or the brain can result in the inability to see colors, and the brain rarely is able to heal itself. However, some parts of the brain have been able to rewire themselves so that other areas of the brain can eventually take over. There are also variations on color blindness; a person can be completely color blind or only partially.

After the light enters the pupil it passes on to the retina. Nerve receptors there pick up the light. A "rod cell is found in the retina and is sensitive to light/dark (black/white). (Wickipedia)" "Cones are less sensitive to light than the rod cells in the retina (which support vision at low light levels), but allow the perception of color. They are also able to perceive finer detail and more rapid changes in images, because their response times to stimuli are faster than those of rods. (Wickipedia)” The cone cells and the rod cells pass their data on to the optic nerve, which goes directly to the brain.

Color blindness is usually caused by a lack of cone cells. With current technology it is impossible to replace what is missing on the retina, it is just too delicate.

Yes. The lenses only change the way the eyes look on the outside. The "cones and rods" inside your eyes that project color are in no way affected.

Yes, because the color deficiency is due to receptors inside the eye. It has nothing to do with lenses.
