I have considered it as a possible explanation, but I decided that Erick Von Daniken and others had it wrong. The god in a space suit hypothesis did not add anything or simplify anything so I quit considering it.

If you think small, like in scifi , that "god" is only creator of life on this planet yes , but if you think of God as creator of seen and unseen, of everything then He is not some other life form of the universe, but the Creator.
If god were just and another Alien, then I do not think that would obey every command without some thought of ulterior motives that guides him, I could not accept easily that his race is perfect, and there is a question who created the universe if he is only a small alien who make order on earth among homo sapience.
In some other sense you could call God an "alien" because He is something unique noncomplient to anything you know, you can only describe Him thru analogys, an say that He is like that.
The word Saint in original hebrew meaning is also translated as otherworldly , not like anything, so you could also translate it as "alien".
Because even you writer of the question are alien to me.
You live in different society, under different rules and in different culture so I could call you an alien.

I would suggest reading anything Erich Von Daniken. He has several theories about how humans may have mistaken aliens as gods in primitive times.

God is god and alien is alien. if god is alien, then it would be something like a science fiction story, like the one show in earth final conflict, the taelon.

By definition, God is an alien because he is not of this Earth. I am a very religous Christian and believe this whole-heartedly.

yep, sometimes I wonder about that, and that hes just sitting up testing us and, seeing who can handle what, don't get me wrong I don't think God is a alien, but it has crossed my mind a time or two

but just as a reminder. this whole world, universe and everything in it is created by god. there is no way it could have existed without something creating it.

I dont know if this is true but i was told that in the mormon religion after they die they wait for a spaceship to get them and take them away
