Many think we are a cult.
They do think we have more than one wife.
Many think all of us are going to hell.
They think we marry off our girls in their early teens.
They think we can’t marry outside our faith.
All these are totally wrong.

Mormons believe they are Christians...
They believe that they will have their own heavens
They think that only the men will have these heavens and the only way the woman can get there is to be married to a man that gets there.
They think that good works earn them a special place
They think that what is written in the book of Mormon is true
They think that they will not go to hell

I could go on and on, but I won't, everything about Mormonism is a misconception because nothing about their religion is true. They are a cult, they are not christian, their life as they know it is ruined if they try to leave the church, no family no friends will have anything to do with them, end of subject.

Here's one...Mormons don't practice polygamy is a misconception. This is why: those who quit are now an offshoot of the religion. People who call themselves Mormon are out there practicing polygamy right now, and they are continuing the historical teachings. Salt Lake City, knock on your door, Mormons are obviously more vocal about it and do not practice polygamy. They think they are the "true" Mormons because they have a prophet who talks to God, but guess what, ALL Mormon sects have their own prophet. The non-poly Mo's folded under pressure of U.S. law, is all.

I don’t know much about the Mormons in general; however, I do believe that there are many misconceptions about every religion.

A friend once told me that:
Mormons believe that Native Americans are really the decedents of the lost tribes of Israel and God punnished them for not accepting Jesus by turning their skin red. Although I think he saw that in an episode of South Park. In truth I don"t know anything about Mormons, but I think all religeons should be respected.

Some people say Mormons believe in God.
Some people say Mormons are Christians.
Some people say Mormons believe in the Bible.
Some people say Mormons believe in the Biblical Jesus Christ.
Some people say Mormons are good enough to go to Heaven.
Some people say there is nothing Satanic about Mormon Temples and what goes on in there.

How does one provide this misconception? To put forth a misconception would be to realize that it is a misconception and therefore prove the misconception invalid. Personally I thought Mormons were more Christian than they really are.

I know their is a lot of hearsay about them from people who don't know from a hole in the ground. But it's the same with all religions that aren't mainstream.
Isn't your ? kinda contradictory? I mean, if it's a misconception, you don't really 'know' it, do you? lol!
So which do you want? What I really know, or the fantastic stories that I have heard but know not to be true?

I have heard that if you are good enough that God will make you a god over another world. I think they keep it hidden till you become a "deep "member.
also that God has lots of wives and that give birth to us. (spiritually)

Jesus and Lucifer were brothers.
God came down to earth to have sex with Mary.

I hate to talk about thing I haven't researched. I really don't know if these thing are true.

I guess a misconception would be that a Mormon is going to heaven.
