I also do not enjoy gyms and I am one of those who does better if I have someone to exercise with. Find a friend and walk or work out together. I love Richard Simmons videos as it is more like dancing.
However, since we moved here, I no longer have a work out buddy. I had to do something so I hired a personal trainer that I work out with 3 times a week. I got a trainer that works out right beside me so we chat the entire time. It works for me.

Body metabolism levels dip after 35/40. This means that we put on weight if we continue eating and working out the same way as before. So....to just stay at our pre 35/40 weight and fitness levels we need to work out a bit longer and a bit harder as regularly as possible.
I'm a person with certain health problems that are more severe when I'm unfit compared to when I've been getting regular enjoyable exercise. As of a week now, this has propelled me to ensure that I walk 30 minutes 5 times a week.
Hope that this convinces you ..... and you can convince me back next week, so that I don't fall off my track !!

Make some friends who like to go to the gymn. Make an evening of it - gymn to socialise a bit, out for some entertainment, etc.
You'll probably have to find those friends AT the gymn, given the laziness of the general population.
I'm looking for a female companion who likes to go to the gymn. Maybe dance lessons. She's gotta be shorter than I am, meaning below 5'8". Prefer petite and energetic. Likes to hike, swim, do some photography, see movies, make movies, go on road trips, isn't afraid of firearms, likes to try new things, is not a flaming Leftist, not a 'toy girl'. Santa Barbara, CA.

A mirror...full length in every room of the house including where you work out....so you can see life's realities then witness you taking control of them and shaping your body into something you want to see.
