I have been trying to find things on the internet that i can read in farsi. like poetry, excerpts from books. does anyone know of a place? thanks for any help

If you are a new learner in Persian language try Persian forums. It can improve your reading and writing.
While you read and write subjects in those forums, because real native people will ask and answer you, this is more useful than reading and writing in your Persian class.
Also, don't forget watching Persian movies. If it's possible, buy a satellite receiver for watching IRIB channels.
