they should just treat all people with AIDS like we do lepors, send them to their own far away island and have no contact with them. or we could just execute them on the spot when they get their test results back.

The first part of your question (?) is just silly. Republicans and Christians don't want people to die. Plus, non-Republicans and non-Christians, like Republicans and Christians, are looking for a cure.
Now on to the real question, is there currently a cure?
No. If there were a cure, it would be on the market.
Are "they" holding out on us? Of course not.
(PS: Don't blame Republicans or Christians for AIDS; it's not their fault.)

We might be able to find a cure for AIDS / HIV if the government or Big Business or more special interest groups would push for & fund stem - cell research. Stem cells can be obtained from the tissues of the uterus & umbilical cord, placenta & possibly other places. One does not have to use aborted / frozen embryos as
" source matter ". Stem cells can possibly rebuild / revivify a malfunctioning, compromised immune system, as well as rebuild damaged tissues ( as in burn & accident victims ), damaged spinal cord tissues, neural connections damaged by Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, ALS. Christopher Reeve pushed for stem - cell research & trial therapy, on behalf of people with spinal cord damage, but also AIDS / HIV, etc. The government should take notice, but Bush is too preoccupied with sending soldiers & service people to hell - holes in IRAQ to keep morticians, prosthetic - makers, & reconstructive surgeons busy. The Right Wing won't push for stem - cell research / finding a cure for AIDS & similiar diseases unless there's money to be had. AIDS affects everyone, it is NOT a curse or plague from God, as that Rev. Phelps would have his followers believe.

Unfortunately, the way I understand it, there is no possible cure for AIDS... better medications to help ease the patients, maybe. But AIDS is a mutating disease, meaning the strain of virus keeps changing as it gets transfered from one partner to another. So, even though there is one "AIDS" disease, there a millions upon millions of strains of it, making it impossible to pinpoint one magical cure for all "forms" of the disease.

the aids virus mutates itself every few cycles, kinda hard to find a cure when the problem changes itself often.
