There is plenty here who will take the job. If they go out of business I will laugh--it is not going to happen. No Farmer would take that loss-none. Unless they were paid too.

If the orange grove farmers are having trouble getting workers, then they need to look at the pay they are offering. If they are not willing to offer a liveable wage, then they DO need to go out of business. It's not that they can't afford to pay a liveable wage, it's that they are too cheap and don't want to cut down a little bit on their own greedy profits. If they bring the wages up accordingly, the workers will come. And they will be legal American citizens!

Yes, but if the orange grove owners would PAY properly, you'd find plenty of Americans willing to pick oranges ... and legal immigrants too for that matter ... as long as they're only willing to pay a pittance, their oranges can stay on the trees and rot as far as I'm concerned ... this country doesn't need illegal labor ... not now, not in the future ... who do you think picked oranges before?

What is also funny is that there was a report on the news that in some communities in Mexico there weren't enough people to work at polling places for the elections, officials in Mexico said it was because so many Mexicans had fled (illegally) to America

Can you see the irony in that?

They have to - just like the gas lines of 1974 that weren't necessary - to prove their point.

If they need people, they can get them. They pay about 10 bucks an hour give or take - shock, huh? - I've worked in the south for companies that had to hire 1000 right away for less. And none of them had problems.

They're not fooling me.

I have an orange, tangerine and lemon tree in back. I do the job that most Americans don't do (ha ha) and pick my produce myself. Yee Haw.. I am also a proficient porcelain and janitorial technician. And my boyfriend makes me blush when he compliments my busboy style and cooking... ah schucks, I am glad I live in America. My hard work is appreciated by the ones I love in a country I just could go on about.

Did you dream that or just make it up?

Why don't you get a job with the Border Patrol? They are hiring and you'll get to work closer to home.
