RE:
What is the meaning of Pros and Cons?

Pretty in Pink is close but still wrong.

PROS are arguments IN FAVOR of the debate proposition.

CONS are arguments OPPOSED to the debate proposition.

So "pros and cons" are multiple arguments in favor of a propositon and multiple arguments against a proposition in an attempt to reasonably approximate the correct view.

So it's a program for guessing the right view on incomplete information by insisting on multiple arguments about the subject of the debate (or the matter requiring decision). It's a cookbook for being fair-mainded, if you will.

Pro generally means professional, especially in a sport & it also means optimistic side/advantages. Pro has two meanings and depending on the context it shall change. However the phrase pro's and con's means the 2 sides of a coin. I.e:- Advantages and disadvantages

I pro is something good. A con is something bad. For example, what are the pros about drinking beer. You can loosen up, have fun, dance. What are the cons? Liver damage, forgetting things, drinking and driving.

Pros and Cons can refer to either opposing sides in a debate (those arguing in favour of = pro and those arguing against = con what is termed the "resolution") or, in a similar vein, the advantages and disadvantages of a proposition.
