I added a new concrete slab on my back portch area. The contractor splattered concrete on my window and screen and did not clean it away while it was wet. Now I'm stuck with removing this dried mess. By the way....the contractor has been out on leave for a few weeks and won't return until August. He has not been paid any money for the work he has done so far. The splattered concrete is bugging me. ....afterall, it's an ugly mess. .

On the window saturate the patch with ammonia or gasoline and scrape it gently with a chisel. Try to keep the patch saturated while you are scraping it and do be careful or you may scratch the glass.

I got all the splatters our from my windows this way. Its hard work and does take patience.

You should be able to scrape the concrete off the window with a piece of wood so as not to scratch the window, than rinse it off with a hose. With the screen you will have to take it off and shake it to see if this will break away the concrete. If that doesn't work set the screen down on the ground and sweep it off with a broom. As a last resort, if it's a really big mess that you have. You might have to purchase a gallon of muratic acid. This should be diluted 50/50 with water before use, but will remove the cement and not damage the window or screen. Be careful of the fumes if you do decide to try the muratic acid. It's what is used to keep a mixer truck clean and it does work, and it is sold at most hardware stores. Hope this helps. Good luck.

the high pressure may be kinda harsh for screens. Try WD-40 on the window it may help get it off. What ever you use be sure to keep the area your trying to clean as wet as possible to avoid scratching the glass.

tHE SCREEN IS EASY, A HIGH PRESSURE WATER HOSE WILL DO THE TRICK, THE WINDOW YOU MAY HAVE TO PEEL IT OFF SPOT BY SPOT.

yOU COULD ALSO USE A BRASS BRUSH ON THE SCREEN.
