and when it's down it really poffy and i hate it is there anything i can do with it to make it not so poffy?

Herbal Essences Pin staight sampoo works good. And semi-permant hair realxer works wonders.

get a smoothing product, like Super Skinny Serum by Paul Mitchell... Straighteners work great too

You can use things like mousse, gel, also, i found this reallllly cool straight iron at walmart, its called wet2straight, you can straighten wet, damp, or dry hair with it, and it seals in the moisture so its not dry, and no flyaways !!
