if they don't want you dating ANYONE, then nah...it's not worth it. If they don't want you dating THIS guy in particular then go ahead UNLESS it's just to spite them. If you start dating guys just to p*ss your parents off, you're gonna find it real hard to find a quality guy when you really want to.

Your parents can't live your life. If they don't mind you being friends, why don't they want you to go out with him? Being friends is the best way to start a relationship!

Why would you want to do that? Wouldn't you rather try someone new? If you've been friends with this guy for years, your parents must be familiar with his faults. It doesn't sound like they're being dictatorial. They just don't see dating this guy to be in your best interest. Try meeting a few other guys and if your heart still goes back to your friend and he's still there for you then maybe it would be worth pursuing.

You should try to seat down with ur parents and talk to them
Try to find out why they don't want u to date this guy
They might have some good reasons u might wanna listen to
If their arguments don't convince u, then u should try to convince ur parents to give him a chance
Tell them how much this guy means to u and that u'd really like them to try to know him better
See if this work
If after this, they still have the same opinion about him, then follow ur heart
and ask yourself: Is it worth it to go against my parents for a guy? Is it real love or just a "nice momment"?

Just be careful and think everything twice

Experience has taught me that parents usually have more experience and will always look out for your interests. Every time I did it my way I ended up regretting my decision until I got to be about thirty.

it depends on if you love him or like him, Maybe you should tell your parents how you feel and how he feels, Cause just maybe that will change their minds, Parents cant dislike someone their whole life, so therefor id say go with it, never know what coulod come out, im shure you parents wouldnt hate you for it...

Listen to your parents; they probably have a good reason why they feel that way about him. Ask them what the reason is and see if you can resolve this reason them. If you can't resolve it, date someone else.
