If you are born a pedophile what do you do?
God knows if gay people are born and its against the bible then how can you say that some pedophiles are not.

If you were sexually abused as a kid and told that it was alright becasue you were innocent ans did'nt know anyhting. WOuldn't it be common for you to grow up thinking the same or similar?

This is weird thinking.

If you are or know a victim of sexual abuse or are one yourself, Please get help so that you can begin to heal. You need to give words to the feelings or it will run and ruin your life and anyone you try to get close to. This is not something to take care of on your own or hope it will someday just go away.

1. No-one is born a Paedophile.

2. If you were sexually abused as a kid. A kid knows that it's wrong. It doesn't matter the age. It is a sick and damaging thing and even young children feel shame even though it's not their fault.

They will suffer for their whole lives no matter how anyone tries to convince them otherwise.

They need counselling to come to terms with what was done to them so that they can heal.

Some people who were abused become the strongest advocates for protecting children from paedophiles.

Paedophiles should not ever be allowed around children. I don't care why they did what they did. Or Why they do what they do. Rapists and Serial killers should not be allowed to roam free.

I'm not even talking about punishment for them. I am talking protection for people so that the Sex offenders cannot ruin anyone Else's lives.

If you think it's not far to them to basically have a life sentence, well neither should the victims of their attack and their families have to suffer through their lives.

Under extremely rare circumstances i guess they could have a complete transformation and healing. It would definitely take an act of God, a miracle to get a High risk Sex offender to a point where they won't repeat their Molestation. It is like a habit for them. It's their drug and you cannot tell for sure that they won't fall off the waggon and offend again. Usually it's just a matter of time.

God Can forgive them if they realise what they have done and repent. We can forgive them.
However we have learned that there is a very real probability that they will rape and molest and torture again and we cannot risk other lives being ruined.

We have a responsibility to protect people from harm. A repeat offender is the norm for these types of crimes. The exception is the one who is cured.

Not if you had common sense. If you were a fairly intelligent, outgoing kid, wouldn't you tell someone? Even if a child is shy, they need to get counseling, call the police, or tell a parent or guardian. Scars from that usually run deep, and if the problem isn't solved, the kid could grow up to be a pedophile too. As for the abuser, they need to get some serious help or go to jail. Sexually abusing innocent children is so wrong in so many ways.
PS: Most sex offenders are straight men. There have been some cases of homosexual pedophilia, but most of the time, it's a straight person. Homosexuality isn't at all like pedophilia. Plus, what you said sounds a little hurtful. I'm not gay, but the way you said what you said could be taken the wrong way. No offense.

You're right. Most gay people are born gay, not all... some do become gay from experiences they have in their childhood or early life, but most gays will tell you that they've known they were gay since they were little.

Pedophilia is different because it's not about attraction to children. It's about control, because small children are more easily manipulated. You cannot compare gays and pedophiles because a gay person's attraction to a person of the same sex is no different than the attraction between a straight person and a person of the opposite sex. Pedophiles have issues regarding control and self esteem, and this shows in their abuse of small children.

Pedophilia, in my opinion, cannot be fixed or changed. It can be controlled - which is the best option, and really the only option. As long as these thoughts remain thoughts and NEVER actions, than we can accept pedophiles in society, because that's the best they can do. I think it's similar to sociopathy, which people are born with and have no control over. We can only make sure these individuals do not detract from or harm society.

Regardless of whether they were abused or not, their actions are socially wrong because children do not have the ability to make mature decisions regarding sexual relations. It is taking advantage of a person. If a pedophile uses the excuse that he was abused as a child, I think he really needs to look at his past and remember the awful feelings associated with the abuse, and realize it is not something they want to spread to others.

I was molested as a child, on two seperate occasions by adult men I didn't even know. I don't have control issues or pedophile tendencies. 1/3 girls are sexually abused or molested, 1/5 boys. Than means 1/4 people are a victim of child sexual abuse. 1/4 are not pedophiles. It is rooted in other issues.

This is a very touchy question...however I feel that being gay may have some societal acceptance issues, but it is not damaging. A person that is gay can live a life just like a straight person. However, a pedophile can permanently scar a child's life forever. It is true that a person can live by example, but these are two totally different issues. They do not even belong in the same category. I do not mind gay people at all...whether they were born gay or made the decision somewhere in the walk of life. Regardless of the reason, I have an absolute zero tolerance for pedophiles/molesters. There are a lot of things we are taught in life, it does not mean you have to believe it or act upon it.

Personally, I think exile them to an island somewhere. Look at people addicted to alcohol or drugs have a very hard time dealing with their addiction. Maybe they try a 12 step program, but most recovering alcoholics fall off the wagon once or twice, some more than that. What happens when a pedophile "falls off the wagon"? What happens when a drunk falls of the wagon. Typically nothing, but upon occasion one drives drunk and may get into an accident. A pedophile, however, wrecks the life of a child. I'm sorry, but the risk is just too high. Frankly, even 12 step programs haven't been terribly successful with pedophiles. We've been trying for years to find a cure, and we haven't found one yet.

Pedophiles have a sick way of thinking and have serious problems. i would hope that anyone with the feelings of being with a child get some sort of professional help. These feelings may seem normal to a pedophile, but arent normal. The bible says alot of things and then contridicts it self. Ruining a child is not a good enough reason to get ones rocks off. If a person was sexually abused, you would think they wouldnt want to inflict the same kind of harm and torment on a nother person.

You are, in essence, saying that the same holds true for pedophiles, which, when applying the same logic, is true.

Ultimately, we are responsible for ALL of our actions, right or wrong. Natural or unnatural.

We can judge others. It's called law. I don't need to walk a mile in Hilter's shoes to determine what made him "tick." He was a monster. Ted Bundy was a monster, too. I need not walk in his shoes in order to understand why he did what he did.

First of all Gay people are not born gay... they develope as children likes and dislikes.... just like a person likes a person who has red hair or blond hair.. they develope that attraction after birth.. then the brain starts to mold itself to that way of thinking.. if a person has a attraction to another person of their own sex and are adults.. that is their business and they can talk to God about it.. but.... If a person developes an attraction to a child then they need to get help... ASAP... if they act on that attraction they need to go to prison for life.... I know plenty of people who were abused as children and they did not grow up to abuse others... it is a choice.. and not a good one... child preditors need to be taken off the streets... Gay people have a choice also.. same as straight people... but the child has not got that same choice.. you know right from wrong... and it is wrong...

Pedophilia is not in any way shape or form like homosexuality. Homosexuality is sexual desire or behavior directed toward a person or persons of one's own sex. One of two things - there is desire that is not acted upon. Or, there are two consenting adults that are choosing to partake in a relationship (whether monogamous or purely sexual) The same as if a heterosexual likes someone and doesn't act upon it, or decides to act upon it.

A pedophile is not engaging in a consensual act. There is no way a child can mentally agree to a sexual relationship.
