I'm remodeling my kitchen, the walls are going to be a light blue almost gray, with white trim. black marble looking countertops, wood cabinets and, my floor is going to be laminant, tan almost rustic looking tile. My furniture is rod iron and wood. Any hints on if im going the right direction?.

YES!! AND it sounds so similar to mine! We like the same furniture. The Wrought iron too!

You should do what I do. Designers do this too.

Go to Several places, where they sell paint..HOME DEPOT, LOWE'S,SEARS, SHERWIN WILLIAMS, etc.

Gather as many of the little cardboard paint color samples as you can carry.

They're free. That's what they're, there for.(funny sentence there.)

Choose colors you like and that look good, next to each other.

Keep these at all times.
Go around the room holding up the colors or laying them on a couch or the floor. Do this during the day to see how THAT light, makes them look and do it again at night, using your lamps, etc.
Different light and shadows change the colors dramaticly.

This way, you will always know what colors of rugs, throw pillows, vases and what-nots will look gorgeous together.

Don't EVER be afraid of bright colors. It is the most common mistake non professional designers make.

Get lots of color samples and let your eyes tell you the story.

They will guide you right down a beautiful path.

Yeah, I like your taste. The only difference between your kitchen and mine is I have warm colors instead of cool.
Rust, oranges and reds with rustic wood, black wrought iron and black and white to make the colors pop!

Good Luck! Don't you love designing?

It's my favorite thing to do!

I would change the color of the walls to something else. Maybe a rust color or Terra Cotta or even a pukey green might look good.
