When I first found out I was gonna be a dad it scared the crap outta me...but I was only 19 at the time too. The smells of the diaper changes took some getting used to but it wasn't bad :) The first time she smiled at me that was the best! I knew when she was born that I would always have to be there for her and to teach her everything I know. I did wonder about how it would feel to have a child. I love her more than anything else in this world as well as our other (soon to be three) children.
Being a parent means knowing UNCONDITIONAL love.

I was a part time mom to a six and an eleven year old before I found out we were expecting. At 33, it was the last thing I expected (not to mention we didn't think I could get pregnant!). I have a successful and busy business and I'm use to being able to do things pretty much as I please. My first reaction was that I wasn't going to be able to enjoy the freedoms I was use to. I never had any doubts as to my abilities in handling a child though.
Our baby's now 3 weeks old and I'm loving every minute of it. Even the nightly feedings and the times he's crying and we can't figure out why. So far, being a part time mom is great but being a full time mom is just awesome!

I've been there 3 times over and everytime the experience was a little different from the other...No i didnt think it was the worst experience of my life, since i had 3 very easy pregnancies,no morning sickness, i just got big, went from my pre pregnancy weight of about 45kgs to my current 62kgs which i blame for my lack of discipline... I felt sooo terrible though, coz I was expecting to feel elated to have my first baby...but boy i was so scared when i saw him (not that he looked horrible!) little did i know it was post partum blues!!!! maybe it was a combination of hormonal imbalance and the drugs...(i underwent C-section)... 8 years on I still wonder if I could ever call myself a good mother, only they can tell!?! I could only hope i was able to raise God fearing children who know the right from wrong. Basing on my reaction to my first baby, i never thought i was capable of so much unconditional love...they still never fail to make me laugh..and cry (out of frustration over little things..they're 3 boys you know?)...feeling their love and hearing them say they love me every night before going to bed is the best part of all...enjoy the moment while they last...

We live and we learn along the way. It's the most magic moment when you first see your baby for the first time, isn't it! And no, it's not what I necessarily thought it would be. I thought I would do things different than my mom, or any other mom, and you know, problems come and go, some different, some the same, but what it all comes down to is that we are all born with one thing in common....we are human!

I was quite young when I got pregnant and the dad was still in school. I was sure we cannot make it work because we do not even have cent in our names. I cried the first time I found I was pregnant. I cried because I do not believe it can work.
I was wrong, though. My daughter is almost 13 years old and so far, so good. I guess those were just first time mothers' jitters. We always fear the unknown. :)

Most of my friends and most books i've read agree on this..
First 3 months you would be in the period of uncertainty.
and you may not love your kids at all - just like what i went through.
6 months down the road since nov'05 (birth of my twins), i love them to bits. and all the fears are gone. What ever you do, in other peoples eyes (in-laws, friends ) you will never be good enuff. But in your own eyes, you'll be the best. Dont listen to others - take their comments with a pinch of salt.

I decided to have my son and it's the best decision i've ever made - I knew I was ready to be a parent - just alot tougher that I initially thought (being a single parent) but I would not give it up for anything in the world.

when we decided to have a baby - 4 years after our marriage, we really really wanted a baby. colic, sleepless nights - the negatives, were all outweighed by the vision of a baby etween us on our bed, talcy smells, gurgling laughter.
glad to tell you that it all came true - with the colic and sleepless nights, that is. but one follows ones heart and when you desire a child, and are blessed with it, then nothing can be better

I figured it would be a wonderful experience, but nothing or no one can prepare you with how fantabulous it is. The feelings are so deep that nothing compares to it.

Its nice to know I wasn't alone. When I had her I was scared, I don't know what to do. So tiny & beauitfully. She is 4 now, I still get scared, but she is my best friend.I thank God for her everyday.
