Why don't all you anti-immigrants put yourself in an illegal persons situation? You don't know any better because you haven't lived what they have. The US is not a poor, corrupt, hypocrite riden government where you have no real say in politics. Visas are not easily obtained in Mexico. Here's an idea: I challege you, the anti- immigrant to become a citizen of Mexico, or just live there for one year, without any US resources and try to make a living. I dare you.

trollmannen: I completely agree with you. But Mexico is much much worse. Sadly, these anti- immigrants haven't realized that. They are too self- absorbed in recieving as much as possible for themselves that they don't realize the true hardships of life.

gokart: did you not read my details. MEXICAN PEOPLE DO NOT GET A SAY IN OUR OWN COUNTRY. It is nothing like america. If you protest against your government in Mexico, you get a sniper, contracted by the same. Go ahead, kill 65% of welfare, give it to US citizens only, only then will we prove that those citizens are the ones wasting those funds, not us, beacuse we don't need it. We work to make our living.

joe&hisguitar: 1 of course not. 2 I didn't say that.
Princess: Neither do you. Yes the US gov is corrupt too, but you can't compare bad to unbearable
foxnews: 1) I am now a naturalized citizen. I went through the hoops w/ my parents for 19 years. 2) B/c I prefer not to be killed. 3) I would if I could. 4) Don'e allow the US to take so much credit after taking Mex by force and covering it up with some $. 5) sure do.

What's really sad is that the latter part of the responses that I have not responded to is so ignorant. not ine of you answered my question, which was "WHY do you put yourselves in to our shoes". Many of you still classify me as an illegal and are telling me to go home, after I clearly stated I am now a citizen. You are too self absorbed in the hatred of immigrants that you couln;t manage to answer my question in the simplest of ways. And to answer one person's response "Why try to reason with a racist? It's pointless"..... exactly, so my work here is done. Good luck when the Lord asks you, did you love thy neighbor?

Do you relize how many of the illegals actually work legitimate jobs? I don't know the exact numbers...but the majority of gang members in the south west states are...Illegal immigrants, the majority of prison inmates in that area are illegals. Do you really feel these people should be in our country? who's gonna stop the illegal al-queda members from getting in too?

Is it my fault that Mexico is so corrupt?? That their army and police forces take bribes all day everyday? They are listed as the 13th wealthiest country, did you know that?? Why do central Americans come up and work/ live in Mexico if it is so bad?? I will tell you why, cause the Mexicans are coming here in droves leaving those positions open.

AMEN GOKART.....well said....great answer

And what about Mexico being the 13th wealthiest country?? They have the resources to really become a strong/ competitive country....the question is why aren't they....hell they have better resources than most countries in the world today...they just don't know how to utilize them....and you want my children's education and my tax dollars to pay for a corrupt Government that I have no say so about??? The Mexican people need to rise up and take care of business in their own country, don't give me no crap about them getting shot yada yada yada, it wasn't easy for the early Americans (true patriots) to rise up and go against the British, but guess what they did it and won the US's independence. The US has had the welcome mat out way too long down at the border, time for it to be stuffed in the closet and not seen for along time, at least until the situation is under control.

So you think by breaking another countries laws somehow things will get better in Mexico?..What makes you think Mexicans are any better than any of the other people who are entering this country legally? By the way, Mexico's immigration policy is the strictest in the entire western hemisphere. Not to mention ...there is a great many anti illegal immigrant people here. It is at a point now where I don't know if people are conveniently forgetting the illegal part or are just plain stupid.

I like your way of thinking. So if My neighbor makes twice the money I do per year and he has a better life eats better has better health coverage and a better car, by your logic could I then go to his house and demand he give me some of what he has and if he doesn't, can I then call him a selfish racist bigot????
why don't you walk a mile in My work boots...
I work 90 hrs a week and make $8000. a month but I only get to take home about half. Meanwhile there are millions of tax dollars spent on ILLEGAL Aliens. Most do not pay the taxes they owe.
and when they even pay any it is the minimum which doesn't even come close to what they use.
I also Challenge you to, instead of spending your energy crossing the border. Effect change in your OWN DAMN COUNTRY.

Yes but ... and here's a very big but .... it's up to the Mexicans to put their house in order .... everybody knows Mexico is corrupt, but are you telling me that there's no way for example 12 million people could take to the streets in Mexico and demand justice, instead of pouring over our borders? 12 million people are one hell of a lot of people ... I'm sure even a corrupt government would sit up and take notice ...

Mexico is a RICH country, and some of the world's richest people are Mexicans ... who I grant you don't give a damn about the poor in Mexico ... but is that the fault of the United States? Let me ask you ... what would you do if the U.S. was NOT your neighbor? If there WAS no opportunity of crossing the border illegally? Why oh why is it always up to us to sort everybody and everything out?

That is just a plain stupid argument. We are not the ones breaking the laws. I don't like the idea of b*tch slapping a legal immigrant that is having to go through hoops for years to be in America legally. I find that determination more admirable then breaking the law by entering America illegally, period. Why don't you challenge your former government to improve the living wage for all of your people. Create jobs in those countries that allow their people to suffer. Why should the USA provide for the world? I think we all should follow our American laws and respect them when you live here, don't you?

Um, to hell with Mexico. The United States has literally dumped BILLIONS into Mexico, with only few visible positive results. There comes a time when you stop throwing good money after bad, and we're there with Mexico. Illegal immigration from Mexico needs to be ended, and the people OF Mexico need to work on reforming their country into a place worth living in, instead of expecting americans to underwrite their BS for all perpetuity.
They need to have their OWN elections, run off their OWN budget, and take care of their OWN problems. It's not america's job to do it for them. I think we should kill off about 65% of our current welfare programs, and ensure that the remainder are provided to US citizens ONLY. Sorry, but there comes a time to say 'no mas'. No more sob stories, no more excuses, and no more free money from the United States. Nuff said...

You seem to presume, like all illegal immigrants, that ALL of the citizens of the USA are rich and have money to throw at them! Not the case! You have no right to say "Walk a mile...." There are plenty of very poor people in the USA who are legal citizens and it is a darned shame that they are so poor while illegal immigrants have found ways to come into the country and TAKE what is NOT theirs, to the detriment of US citizens!

Illegal immigrants - go home! We don't want you here anymore! We cannot afford you! Go home and if you really truly want to come to the USA, do it legally or not at all!

Burglars want a better life for themselves and their family. But I bet if a burglar broke into your house, you'd call the police to come and get him and put him in jail for trying to take your stuff.

Don't be such a hypocrite. You either obey the laws or you don't. If you don't obey the laws you're a criminal. Illegals are criminals.

The fact that you can't distinguish between a legal immigrant and an illegal alien is very sad.

How much money do you take out of your paycheck to give to illegals? What are YOU doing that requires great sacrifice to help the illegals?

Quit deciding how to spend my money. We have Americans who cannot get needed services because we are being drained by illegal, unwanted people who are here for what they can take.

What about our disable, our poor and our elderly whose services are being cut back, drastically cut back, because the money is gone....for the support of millions of illegals.

As far as your challenge, it's not even close to real. How about leveling the playing field....how about going to Mexico, getting food stamps, free medical care, free identities without punishment from the rightful owners, schooling, and earned income tax refunds.....just a few of the goodies we hand out. In that case, going to Mexico would be a piece of cake.....

Ok, put your selves in our shoes ... we want to protect our future, but hey... you want to be part of our future... then fill out the paper work and wait your turn .

If it is going to take to long, then put your efforts togeather and protest Mexico... hey you guys did it before... but you protest America ... maybe you need to think how you can improve your own life, and not expect some one else to do it for you .

I'm all for immigration, it is just that we can not take every one that wants to come in at once... it needs to be monitored, and secured, this is important to our way of life.. with out, this country would turn into a 3rd world country over night .
