If you are trying to gain muscles mass, the answer is both, but more so, one in the morning, one after your workout and one 30 min before bed. If your workout is in the evening, take one mid afternoon.

Without doing much, you could start by reading Mens Health and Muscle & Fitness Magazines. Both are published by Joe Weider Inc. Both have great workout routines in them and advice on diet, fitness, health, supplementation.

I would reccomend that you start by hitting the weight room, 4-5 times per week. Lifting with Compund exercies first, then isolation exercises. 4-5 sets of each, with 1-2 of them being warm up exercises. 9-12 rep range is good for muscle mass, and definition and stamina. Rest each body part 4-7 days. So if you do Chest on monday, dont do it till at least friday.

When it comes to supplementation you will use the minimum:
1 multi vitamin pill per day
tribulus
Whey protein or whey protein isolate. Depending on allergies, you may want to use a Soy protein. you should use 2-3 grams of protein per kilogram of bodyweight in your daily diet to gain muscle (you still need to lift weights though and stick with it. It takes a long long time. It took me 2 years to put on 35 pounds of muscle.) Take some in the morning when you wake up, mid day, and as part of your post workout drink.
I would also reccomend taking L-Glutamine as part of your post workout routine.
Take something with creatine. This stuff is well documented. I would reccomend BSN Nutrition NOxplode. IT has creatine, arginine, and others as well as nitric oxide. Take this for your pre workout routine, about 30-45 minutes before your workout. It takes awhile for your body to absorb the creatine.

That should be the core of your supplement routine. Do not rely on the protein powder to get you all of your protein in a day.

Remember to do cardio at least 3 times a week 60-75% of your max heart rate (MHR) which is 220-your age. for about 30 min each session. If i do legs, I do cardio after. Sometimes I will split it, 15-20 min before, 15-20 min after. You have to burn the fat to show your hard work!!

Do abs at least 3 times a week. focus more on form and crunching the muscle, than how many reps you do.

THis should help.

I am trying to gain right now actually, and I have gained about 5 pounds the first month . . . I have been making sure that I eat EVERY FOUR HOURS, whether I really feel hungry or not! I don't eat an entire meal, but I at least eat a sandwich or bowl of cereal . . . something! Along with the sandwich or whatever I will also eat something that is high in protein (like boiled eggs or peanut butter). I have also cut back on my physical activity. I have always been a runner, but I have quit running for right now and started going to the gym 2 or 3 days/week to try and build a little muscle along the way . . . I hope that helps!

Well theres a solution to obtain weight the healthy manner, and the not so healthy manner. Eating crappy meals won't make you gain just right weight. It'll certainly make you fats with none muscle attain. Make certain you get a variety of protein on a daily basis, around 100g. Which you can get protein from meat, milk, cheese, yogurt, nuts, etc. You will have to obviously make certain you get various carbs. For a whilst, you should log the whole lot you eat. Then you'll find how many energy a day you are getting. Once you do this, which you can double your energy and might be add yet another small meal every day. Excellent good fortune!

Okay, first the gf....hon, if she truly cares about you, she won't care if you're a twig or a bronco. Secondly, if you were to break up with her, would you really care whether or not she'd be willing to take you back? I mean, you'd have a good reason for breaking up with her, right?

Now, to the "beefy" thing...oatmeal. I kid you not. A friend of mine is a former bodybuilding type of fella. He was just talking the other day about how he had gone to his trainer/coach (years back) and complained about not being able to gain the weight he wanted. The coach said, well there's one thing Scottish men are known for (size), and there's one thing that English horses are known for (size), and there's one thing they both have in common...they both feed (no offense to the Scots) on oatmeal.

My friend said once he started eating oatmeal in the morning (the plain stuff), he almost immediately saw results. I've asked around and most of the "big" guys I know eat oatmeal at least once a day.

They can't all be wrong, right?

Good luck!

okay, disregard the extra 500 calories thing, that will only gain fat, what you need to do is hit the weight room, start working out 3 days a week (you need the rest to build muscle, more lifting does not equal more muscle) to further help your muscle building take a protein supplement ( MuscleMilk, Whey, etc.) make sure you are active enough to use all this protein or else it will turn to fat, you will see results in about 6 weeks, and as for your girl, she sounds trashy, so i say get into shape and with your new body, find a new girl
