i am lookin for a chicken an dumplin recipe that is easy to make, i also need the step, an oven temp, ya know all the good info.... oh this recipe doesnt have an veggies in it...

We boil the chicken on the stove until done. Take it out of the water/broth to cool and pull the meat off. We add some chicken bouillon to the water and heat. As for the dumplings, we use buttermilk biscuits (the ones in the can in the refrigerator). We quarter them and toss in the boiling broth. Cook til plump and then add chicken :)

Easy Chicken and Dumplings

6 chicken legs with thigh
8 cups water
2 chicken bouillon cubes
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 (15 ounce) package 8-inch flour tortillas


Bring first 5 ingredients to a boil in a large Dutch oven; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 45 minutes or until chicken is tender.
Remove chicken, reserving broth in Dutch oven.
Let chicken and broth cool.
Skin, bone and cut chicken into bite-size pieces; set aside.
Skim fat from broth.
Add soup to broth; bring to a boil.
Cut tortillas into 2x1 inch strips.
Add strips to briskly boiling broth.
Add chicken, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent dumplings from sticking.
Remove from heat; Serve.

Crockpot Chicken and Herb Dumplings

Ingredients

(1 servings)

3 lb Chicken
Salt and pepper
2 Cloves garlic, minced
1/4 ts Powdered marjoram
1/4 ts Powdered thyme
1 Bay leaf
1/2 c Dry white wine (optional)
1 c Dairy sour cream
1 c Packaged biscuit mix
1 tb Chopped parsley
6 tb Milk
10 Small white onions


Instructions

Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper, place in crockpot. Insert cloves in one onion. Put all onions into pot. Add garlic, marjoram, thyme, bay leaf and wine. Cover and cook on low 5 to 6 hours. Remove bay leaf and cloves. Stir in sour cream. Increase heat to high and combine biscuit mix with parsley. Stir milk into biscuit mix until well moistened. Drop dumplings from teaspoon around edge of pot. Cover and cook on high for 30 minutes.

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

2 c Flour
1/2 ts Sifted baking soda
1 t Salt
1/4 c Crisco
1 Egg
1 c Buttermilk
1 Hen
1/2 ts Salt

In 8-10 quart saucepan with lid,stew in hen in water
until tender with salt & pepper. Remove hen, skin &
debone; set aside. Mix flour, soda, 1/2 ts. pepper, &
1/2 ts. salt. Cut in Crisco until crumbles. Add
milk. Mix well & turn on well floured surface to roll.
Sprinkle flour on top & roll very thin. Makes
approximately 17x25-inch squares. Bring chicken broth
to a boil & drop dumplings in one at a time. Keep
dumplings separated. Simmer 15 min. Serve
immediately. You may return chicken to pot or serve
separately.

quick and easy 2 10 oz cans cooked diced chicken hormel brand works well 3 cans swanson chicken broth 2 tablespoons margarin 2 cans inexpensive refigeraten biscuts place chicken margerin broth salt and pepper to taste in large kettle bring to rolling boil meanwhile roll biscuts to an eith to quarter inch thick and then cut into 3/4 inch strips add to pot reduce heat to medium cover and cook for aprox 20 min if you want a thicker consistency add two tablesoons cornstarch to 4 ounces cold water to disolve add half and bring to boil while stiring soup repeat if desired consistence acheived

Buy a box of Bisquick -- the recipe is on the back. It is done on top of the stove, not the oven. Eliminate the vegis if you want.
