Wow! You really are serious about "Respecting your authoritah", aren't ya?

Damn, baby....you rock my world!

It really depends of what type of law enforcement you go into. Local deputies and city police officers, don't require as much training. State troopers have their own programs. I am not sure of how much time it takes, but I am almost certain that it doesn't require more than two years.

I used to work in the country jail, and a prison. So, I have a lot of friends who are cops.

And, Darlin'....don't worry.....I will respect your authoritah! I will also stand by your side when you demand to be paid in cheesy poofs.

Well, I'm gonna go wash dishes or get pregnant, or something. After that, I'll get my biaatch azz in the kitchen and make you some pie!

Most city departments with good pay overtime and benefits require either an associates or bachelors degree before you are allowed to take the test for police officer. Remember these jobs often pay 6 figures with overtime and have great 20 yr retirement etc. Most state police focus on traffic and salary is about 75 percent of for example New York. Salaries vary widely but if you are looking for a well paid job you will have to compete physically, on the written test, and submit to psychological testing and drug screening that will continue throughout your career. Once admitted to the academy you will have successfully become 1 or 2 out of 100 applicants. After the academy you will have pass state examinations to become certified. Salaries determine the level of competition though. In Westchester County N.Y. which is where Hillary and Bill live they have the highest paid police department in the country. Their typical applicant is already a police officer somewhere else, has a four year degree with good grades and scores a perfect score on the written examination. Good luck to you if you are interested. Remember with the soaring rates of incarceration, etc. the criminal justice sector has really improved as to salary benefits and retirement.

Just get into the police academy. No collage required. Don't be fooled into a degree you will not need. If you want great training sign up to become a military police in the reserves but best to go active. Great training that will give a huge edge when you get out.

Most departments in my area require at least 45-60 hrs of college credit. Some require a bachelors degree. You also get credit for military experience. Thats how I got in before I finished my CJ degree. I was an MP in the Marines for 4 yrs prior to starting in civilian law enforcement.

Actually, you can even earn your criminal justice, law enforcement, etc, right on the net. I see online schools for this, and I believe this way will take 1 yr for law enforcement, and more for other law fields.
