Okay, this may sound crazy, but eating every two hours at least helps out. This keeps your body from going into starvation mode while keeping your metabolism active.
Now, this doesn't mean eating a meal every two hours. In fact, what I find easiest is carrying a bag of snacks with me (usually carrots, celery sticks, and radishes), and just kind of munching all day long.
You definitely want to lower the amounts of sugars and fats you take in. Cut out all junk food, drink at least 8 glasses (64 ounces) of water each day, and try to avoid pop (drink diet if u must have a soda) and sweets.
Also, increasing your activity level will help that much more. If you don't have time for a 30 minute workout 5 times a week, try walking to work/school/home, or park your car at the far end of the parking lot (hey, something is better than nothing). If you take the bus, maybe get off one stop early and walk the extra few blocks.
The main thing is, don't starve yourself. Don't hope for some miracle diet pill (there's a reason most of them are taken off the market within 2 years by the FDA). It's going to take effort and patience, but it'll be oh so worth it...Good luck!!
P.S. Not to put a plug in for any group, but my dad joined Jenny Craig, and he did manage to lose 75 lbs in about 4 months or so, so that may be another option too.

Stop eating junk food I.E. (soda, candy, pastries) Eat High protien, semi-low carb foods, and eat small portions 5-6 times a day. Also you should not eat carbs within 3-4 hrs of bedtime. If you are not going to the gym start going. You should lift light weight with high reps and include compound movements (excersices that involve more than one muscle group or joint.) Along with going to the gym you should include cardio at least 3 times a week for a minimum of 20 min. Running is best but if the gym has the option swimming, it is a great cardio excersice with almost no stress on your joints. If you follow these steps you will easily lose 15. Its hard to do because people want to see overnight changes but thats not going to happen. It takes hard work and stong will power.

Lean Protien: include Beef, Chicken, Turkey, Eggs even Lean Pork.
Do lots of Green veggies, fresh salads with low fat dressings. Raw Veggies & fruit as snacks & desserts
Keep your fat grams to 30 a day & you lose.
EXERCISE: Walking is free & really works. Wear good shoes.
I went from 186lbs. to 139lbs. on this in just a few months.

Go vegetarian. Well, I guess that's not a for-sure...I technically gained weight, but I was underweight beforehand so I think if you do it right it just evens you out. Helps a lot of people lose weight though.
Do it right though, if you ever do. Don't just cut out meat, replace it.

cut back the carbs everytime you eat a meal w/ meat have a salad or extra veggies my husband and i just started back on this plan and we feel great our stomache arent bulging and we both have lost weight. i did the severe no carb diet and lost 20 lbs in 2 weeks but i did gain it back in a year,

you exercise,eat chicken baked not fried,fruits vegetables don't eat any red meats and eat small portions but don't starve yourself
