I drink all day long because I'm thirsty. I've even measured out my water intake and it is well above the recommended 8 glasses a day. When I urinate, it is always a very large quantity, like I have eliminated all of the water I had put in. The next time I urinate, it is usually very yellow or almost orange, indicating that I am dehydrated still. I constantly feel hot and dehydrated too. I am not doing strenuous exercise or working in the heat. I've had this problem for a while and we thought it was diabetes but my sugar is normal, even on the low end. The only medication I take is Yasmin brand birth control pill. What could this be? What can I do?

Diabetes insipidus is caused by a pituitary disease in which "Anti diuretic hormone " is not secreted. This causes increased urination and increased thirst.
Functional (hysterical)polydipsea is another condition in which women have an urge to drink a lot of water and urinate more.
Hyperfunction of thyroids can cause a similar condition.
An endocrinologist gives the correct diagnosis.

That is a symptom of diabetes. Check your blood sugar. I am sure it is a symptom of many things, but since I am diabetic, it immediatly comes to mind.

Go and get your glucose tested. You sound like a prime candidate for diabetes.
