I would say that yes, the bird could take a bath with your fiance as long as they don't mind Bird turds in the water and that the bird stays on her stomach or chest. Parrots can't swim and the bird can easily drown. As long as the bird is baby sat while its with her, there should be few problems.

Most people shower with their birds and I would recommend it. It helps form stronger bonds with your parakeet (and other parrots) and is a great social activity! It also helps combat boredom as the bird gets to dance around wet then spends the next hour straightening those feathers out.

A lot of parakeets love to splash around in shallow dishes of water, be misted with a squirt-bottle, or play with a dribbling stream of water in the sink.

However, I would not recommend bathing with your budgie in your person-sized tub. They could very easily drown, and the stream from the shower your used to is probably too strong for the little guys. It's easier to bathe with bigger parrots.. sometimes even cockatiels, but I think it's too risky with parakeets.

Try a shallow dish with water (we're talking half an inch deep), and maybe put some lettuce or another treat nearby to entice him and he may explore on his own. Don't force him into the water, though... some parakeets simply do not like to bathe.

Parakeets ARE NOT Allergic to Water..otherwise they wouldn't be able to drink it. That was just a Silly Answer!!!!

I have to ask...why in the World would you want to take a bath with your Parakeet???? I am thinking the parakeet could be let in the bathroom when your future wife is in the bath but you should not force the bird in the water. Is this a fetish of hers? Sorry, had to ask!!

A parakeet would drown in a bathtub. Maybe you could take the parakeet and give it its own little birdbath on the side. But it's not really possible, unless your fiance can take a bath on the verge of ten seconds.

I'd worry about the parakeet possibly drowning in a bathtub-sized body of water. The parakeet can definitely take a shower with its family members, however--you can even buy specialized shower perches for your bird!

I do not think parakeets like to take a bath in the tub they do not need that much water to bathe

i used to shower with my cockatiel , so why not with a parakeet, just watch the temp. of the water, if he seems stressed you can simply put him on the curtain rod , but he'll probably enjoy it- how ever I don't think they can swim so a bath may be risky

I wouldn't give it a bath but a shower is ok. Some birds love to have showers because it reminds them of the rain. I have a Nanday Conure and she loves it expecially on hot summer days.

swap on a sink tap to room temperature or hotter, yet no longer fairly warm. you could turn the tap so as that the water is popping out sluggish, then position them contained in the sink. in the adventure that they prefer it, they are going to clutter round contained in the water. in the adventure that they don't, then they are going to run away, and also you may want to apply a twig bottle. make efficient the water is warmth, then spray them with it. you don't desire fancy chemical compounds or something to grant your poultry a bathtub, on the grounds that they preen themselves a minimum of once an afternoon. i'm hoping this helped you!

birds really like running water, just a dribble in a sink maybe with a wash cloth on the bottom. my bird loves this. they just like to get a little wet not soaked.
