If I think that stranger is safe to talk to and I have the time then I'll talk for as long as we have the time. People need to do it more often. I read in an article that Americans are more lonely than ever. Has anyone thought that "fear" is molding us into the loners we have become?

I think we are all strangers at some point...don't you think? the only people that aren't strangers are our friends, people we trust and known for a while right?.
your question made me realize I could know a lot more people if I wasn't always so worried about people after to get me. I get a lot of people always talking to me, and I usually keep it simple, I honestly have never really thought about it, until now.
People should be nice to each other more often, what else do we have to do, instead of being so serious all the time, we should be able to smile and be friendly to others, I will certainly keep this on mind:) but with my safety in mind of course.

That happened to me a couple of times, but not because i was holding a lot of money lol. It's really awkward and sudden everytime that happens, and i'm not comfortable with it so I reject them and I don't want to get into too much with random people from the street, even if its just out for a coffee, I'd rather not and I just pretend I got places to go.

Really can't say. It all depends on what they want from me. I've been approached by a few women who paid MORE attention to the spots on my cheeks than I do. This really annoys me, but I still tried to be polite to them and paid attention to their talk.

How much good we miss by being so suspicious. You might have made a new friend, or helped a visitor, or renewed a person's faith that people are nice not mean.
Yes, we should do it more often.

I will usually give the person no more than a few sentences in exchange and move on. I don't trust strangers.

After I determined she wasn't trying to hustle me, I'd ask her out for a drink. Then I'd try to get her to come by my place for another drink and break out the guitar, and sing and drink until she was relaxed. Then I'd try to bang her brains out. What's the harm with some innocent sex?

People flirt on the street all the time. If you are really outgoing you can pick up girls this way.
