You don't need a marriage licence from your home state. You turn up at the Marriage Licence Bureau of Las Vegas with some i.d. and $55 cash - there is no waiting period and no blood test - and pick up your licence. You can then go and get married in any of the 60+ chapels in the city (though if you have a specific preference of chapel, it's best to book ahead).
You can pay as little as $20 to get married in Vegas, or as much as $20,000. However, packages with flowers and photographs generally start at around $200 at the independent chapels. Also allow around $50 ministers gratuity, $20 for the limo driver if one is included in your package, and $20+ for the photographer.
You will need one witness - some of the chapels can arrange this for you if it's just going to be the two of you, or just ask a passer-by.
The site below let's you browse every wedding ceremony in Vegas by cost (and theme if you want it), and also has articles about small weddings and low cost weddings in Vegas.
Good luck - and have fun!

I just got married in Las Vegas a week ago. We first went to the courthouse in Las Vegas to get a marriage license for $45.00. You do not need to get one from your home state. We then got married in a chapel with the "Elvis package". The whole deal cost us about $600.00. Limo, pictures and video (and veil) included. It was a wonderful experience and definately unforgettable. You do not need witnesses.

You need a license from Nevada, not your home state. Whatever chapel or wedding coordinator you decide to use should be able to help you with the process.
Sorry I cant help you out with the price ranges. I think you need 2 witnesses but Im not positive.

There is a marriage license department that is open 24 hours where you can walk in, get your marriage license and be gone in less then an hour. At least this was still true when I was in Vegas about 6 years ago.

You must go down to the county clerks office and get a license which costs 55 dollars. Then if you just want a quick justice of the peace ceremony, you walk about 1 block to their office, pay their fee, the get married. You will need one witness for that ceremony. The following webpage is the direct link to the county clerks office...

License is issued in Nevada
Their "staff" act as the witnesses, so you don;t need to bring any
Runs anywhere between $150 and $200 for the certificate and civil ceremony only. The more foo foo you add, the more it costs.

No, but what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas does not apply. You will be married everywhere. 20-100 dollars (Elvis or no Elvis) and they will provide the witnesses.
