A guy is a gentleman if a he stand up and pull his girlfriend/ mom/any female's chair for them to leave the table.

Typically, the gentleman will stand whenever a lady leaves the table, this is highly prevalent in your nicer restaurants, but one of my friends no matter where we are, when I leave the table, he stands
It is also good to always allow women to get on and off the elevator first (just a side note on courtesy).

In polite society, a man stands whenever a woman enters a room, approaches, or leaves the table.
Children should stand when an adult enters the room.

Yes, because with out edict and civility there would be no society to speak of. For with out these rules the world would be in chaotic disarray, the country would be run by unsophisticated insolent stock, the moral fiber of the family would be riddled with separation, and the world would be afraid of travel.....
...oh, well, uh... I guess I should rethink that, as it seems there's no reason anymore is there...

Uh, NO. I'm eating, It's not my problem they have to go to the bathroom. Besides, there are enough people in the fast food line standing up anyway. HA

That is proper etiquette for a man to do it when a woman stands up, but I thought chivalry was dead? If I did see somebody do it, I would probably think they were a cornball!

In America it just doesn't happen as much as it should, Mainly when a woman gets up it is the right thing to do.

only if they r your friend of u know them cuz if a complete stranger stands up you dont get up unless you want to look gay or like an idiot no offence to gay pepole
