generally speaking, yes. the trouble is that they cost a lot. organic fruit, vegetable and grains are grown under exacting standards: no pesticides, no chemical fertilisers, no genetic modification, and so on. organic farmers use methods that promote the health of the soil and land, so you are also helping the environemnt. whether organic food tastes better is really up to you. one thing, though, is that you don't get all that weird generic uniform bigness that you get from non-organic food (giant carrots, giant tasteless tomatoes, etc. etc.) intead you get beautiful and varied sized pieces of food from an organic grower, and often you find wonderful (and delicious) varieties that are not known to the masses of people who buy at Safeway. but alas, they ARE more expensive.
i can't tell you about organic meats, i don't know about them.
some things you don't need: biodynamic foods -- that's just a superstition and not science. organic junk foods, like "organic corn chips" etc. -- i've seen a lot of these around; they're still junk food, if perhaps slightly better than other brands. don't spend your good money on them.
make your own cereals from wholesome ingredients. it's easy.

I buy organic foods already. I have a job at a health food store and which gives an additional 40% off their products. Also you don't have to buy everything organic. There are some foods that are ok not to eat organic. If you are going to start buying organic, start with organic milk or organic meat. Start by taking small steps.

Yes, I do. At least some things. Especially milk. I don't want the bovine growth hormone. I'm not a cow. And I try to buy cows that are not given the hormone to. For the most part I succeed. I also buy other foods too.

A recent medical study compared the nutrient content of organic oranges to 'regular' oranges. They found the organic orange had 160% MORE vitamin C in it. It cost a little more, but its nutrient content was much greater. What a bargain!

No, I wouldn't. I believe it's a marketing ploy. Someone saw a niche and filled it. It's just a guess, but I think that in your life you couldn't eat enough 'organic' produce to counteract all of the other negative components in your environment. So it's something of a placebo effect.

What if it wasn't more expensive? What if safe products were actually less expensive than normal brands? The ones I use in my home are.
