Okay here's my situation. I'm 16 going to be 17 in two months. I've never done anything with a guy other than kiss until my boyfriend of 5months now. And we've done everything except actual sex (we've done oral). I feel like I truely love him and have never felt this way about a guy before and sometimes I feel like I want to have sex but then I'm not sure. I'd just like to know the odds of condoms working and all that kinda stuff. Cuz the only thing stopping me is the fear of getting pregnant. Any help or advice world be appriciated. Thankz.

Another thing. He has nothing to do with this...he doesn't even know I'm considering it. (for the people who tell me not to let him push me into it). Just to let you know. Not to be rude. <3

A condom used properly is like 98% effective. If you are considering having sex, you should go get on the pill and also use a condom. Remember when taking the pill it takes a whole month before you are protected. If you are having any doubts at all about having sex, don't do it until you are 100% sure that's what you want to do. Once you do it, you can never get your virginity back. I do think it's great though that you are acting responsibly and considering protection options before you actually have sex.

I will strongly advise to hold on a little bit on that sex thing, more than for condom security and stuff like that, because your needs and thaughts as a 17 year old are and will be very different as age goes by, you see, sex is one of the world moust beautifull things, but it is also a big compromise, because no matter how secure you feel, there is always a percentage of odds that you will get pregnant, and you will need to be ready to face it if it happens, and at 17 i find it hard to believe that you can rise a little child... think about it...

Thank You for the fear,
Sounds to me like you getting ready to let a little boy mount you with his penis.
Little boys and girls are not very good with Birth Control so lets check in to see if you two all ready for any mistakes.
Does he make enough money to support the child,
How much of that can he afford towards child support,
Will you get married before the baby is born?
Does you High School have a day care?
Where should the baby live, with you, him or your parents.
Does he understand that no matter what you say about getting an abortion you can change your mind at any time and make him a father and responsible for supporting the child for a period longer then has been alive.
THE BIG ONE
Do you or him have the health care or assets to cover the pregnancy. If you are expecting (Mr taxpayer) to pay the bill then dump him and call me. If I have to pay for your baby I'd prefer to be the one laying you the pipe.

I believe the odds are about 94% of condoms working. I'd be really careful if I were you, because I'd hate to see your life ruined by having a baby you're not ready for (I'm biased because I have 19 and 17 year-old daughters.) It's a risk, and if you can time your cycles and he can use condoms effectively, it's relatively low, but I'd stick with the oral sex if I were you.

condoms don't always work I got pregnant at 14 even using a condom! I now have a 13 year old and I am only 28! talk about messing up your life! but after you have sex you will 10 to 1 split up after! just to fare warn you! you are better off waiting and saving it for when you get older and you know more about what is going on in life!

Girl best thing at your age is to hold your innocence for later!! Don't lose that until later. If the guy loves you, he will understand. If he doesn't understand or tries to push you into it, then he isn't meant to be. A condom is very useful and protects within the 90% range, but not 100% remember that. I honestly think you should wait awhile before making this choice, one day you may regret it. Take care of yourself and your body!

Well if you're not sure don't do it. Condoms do protect you against getting pregnant and some STD's but condoms do brake and 17 is a young age to have a baby. So think very clearly about your decision.

if u have a fear of getting pregnant, then why take the risk. plus at first u still seemed a little unsure. i'd wait till u guys are at least out of high school to make that decision. if not try birth control, but also use a condom. my sisters, had one child and the other other on the way tomorrw, or thursday. both of her children were concieved while using birth control.
think wisely.

I was fifteen and sixteen once. Like everyone else, I thought the guy I was with at that age was 'the guy'. I was wrong. If he truly is 'the guy' he will respect you enough to wait until you are both mature enough to handle the responsibility of having sex because the only sure fire way to avoid pregnancy is abstinence. Good luck. And remember, you are a prize for the man that loves you enough to make a committment of marriage to, save the prize of yourself for the man you truly love.
