May sound cheesy but I make a point of doing the opposite. I make a point of noticing happy moments and dwell on them till the next one comes along. It doesn't have to be much, but it makes me feel good most of the time.

According to the reading I have done regarding hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), the brain, when it senses that blood sugar is low, will do sometimes strange things to get the blood sugar (glucose) out of storage and into the blood stream. Adrenaline is one sure way to do this. If the bad memories cause you to get angry that may cause an adrenaline rush. If they make you cry, exercising the lungs in any way helps incrase blood sugar. Low blood sugar might probably be the cause.
Suggestion? The next time you feel the press of bad memories, go to the kitchen and get some protein, meat, a can of tuna or whatever, and eat it. Also have some carbohydrate, like a handful of chips, or some carrots/celery and some nuts or peanut butter. Eat at least 2 ounces of the protein. Then drink a glass of water and do something active for 30 minutes. Especially good is exercise, but singing or walking do well too. You may find your memory load has lessened a bit.
There are meditation techniques that lead you to self-forgiveness, that can help unload the shoulders - even if you have to do them every time you think of the bad memory. Don't worry about changing the memories. Just know you are human, and you are allowed to make mistakes - even if they hurt yourself or others at the time they were made.
Chronic low blood sugar can also cause self-esteem problems, anger management problems and a whole bunch of other physical and mental nasties. You may want to check out the symptoms link on www.hufa.org, and see how you check out.

You sound like a religious person, so I will tell you this. You can pray, you can forgive but in this life suffering must take place. I think the problem you have is you focus on the same problems over and over again like an obsession. Even God can't help you if you're unwilling mentally to move on. You sound like you are suffering from depression and maybe seeing a professional may not be a bad idea, I was hesitant at first but I realized a little counciling and a little medication go a long way. STop focusing on the past, find activities to keep your mind active and not focus'd on the past. Focusing on the past will only cause our emotions to fester and worsen. Parable: sometimes moving on, means we need to cross the river, not just move down the embankment.
Good luck to you and I hope you can put your past behind you.

some people just have a depressive personality and not able to let go.. you may want to talk to a therapist because this seems to bother you, maybe with some help your miracle will yet occur
The only example i can give you is your not the only one that has done things or had things done to them that they cant forget. i think everyone has. The difference between me and you is ill remember something unpleasent that happend 10 years ago. i may cry, or feel bad. but i dont let it affect my life and these little episodes are few and far between now especially the older i get.. maybe my memory is fading :)

I am pretty sure you should see a psychologist. I'm not an expert, but I know my mom was the same way, and now she takes some pills every time she feels this way. She is doing much better than she was 5 years ago.

You are a miracle, god is like an adviser, if you put your trust in him he will answer, but are you willing to listen? Your problems well not go away until you solve them and that is hard. That's when you ask yourself, are you strong or weak. Focus on the positive and complement yourself even for the smallest things and you will see, you can be happier. You have to do your part in order for god to do his, it's about trust and trust is hard, there is no one better than god to trust in, talk to him just like you would another person, listen to him, soon you will hear him.

See a doc to get immediate temporary treatment for depression, and then see a clinical hypnotist to cure it permanently in about 3 sessions. When you start calling hypnotists, ask them if they have experience treating depression. Most do. Hypnosis works wonders for that!!
