Definitely only after marriage. Anything below mid 20s is too young.

I think any age is too young if the person is not mature. The problem with that is many people are not mature enough to realize they are not ready. It's an ongoing problem. Even though I didn't follow the "get married and then have sex" rule ... I wish I had. Nowadays not very many couples stay together for many reasons... it's acceptable, common, easy and sex is handed out more freely, etc. I/we? live in a very selfish country. Many live for the moment. I wish everyone would just slow down...

I wouldn't have said this when I was young, but I have more experience now, and with that comes wisdom. I think a young person today should wait until after high school when they are on their own and independent. They may be in college and financially dependent on their parents, but they are no longer sheltered from the consequences of their actions. Their world has expanded and they can see if random, recreational sex is worth the risk of STDs, pregnancy, entrapment, whatever.

It would be nice to believe that people would want to remain chaste until they are married. Perhaps if they did, the divorce rate wouldn't be so high, and there wouldn't be so many children living in broken homes. Those kids go on to repeat what they've learned at home--that one's convenience comes before duty, obligation & responsibility. We've become used to a society that places fewer values on traditional elements of that society such as pre-marital sex versus abstinence, and abandon the marriage when it doesn't "feel right" anymore.

I'm waiting till marriage, and I'll be 28, so I'm pretty odd in today's world.
However, not everyone is like me. I think the age when one should have sex varies as people mature at different rates and have different opinions about how to view sex.
I think most people should wait until they are 18, because many people under 18 (and some over...) simply are not mature enough; many teenagers are unable to really consider the consequences of their actions when making a decision. Most importantly, you should be mature enough to take precautions against STDs and to be tested regularly, to practice some form of birth control unless you are prepared to have children, and you should feel emotionally "ok" with having sex.

I think you should wait till you are married because of morals and standards but that is just me. Really you have less worries about being left right after having sex and less chances of STDS. Also, if he/she does want to leave you after the sack then they have to go through court and the whole mumbo jumbo they might not want to quickly. Most importantly, when you both marry, most of the time it's cause you are in love so it also leaves out the insecurities about being ready or knowing if you two love each other enough to do that.

I say b4 18 is too young cuz hormones are still raging really high and when ur 18 ur a legal adult anyway so theoretically u can do whatever u want.
Idk, sex is a very emotional thing for some people so it definitly depends on the person.

I would say any age under 19 is too young, and yes, the best thing to do is wait until you are married.

Wait until you are committed to someone. Also wait until you are out of high school because at that age you don't know what committed really is.
