I have downloaded the Flac version of a file and need to know.
1. What is the best free software to get to convert these?
2. How do I burn these files to an audio cd.

I have windows XP home media. I didn't mean to purchase the FLAC version of these files but I'm stuck and they are in my computer and I want to listen to them. Preferably on cd. Someone please help me. Links are greatly appreciated. Thank You!!!!

Download this codec.
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/codec-central-flac.htm

It will let you listen to the FLAC files. They are similiar to mp3 files but they are compressed, so you just need the codec to be able to listen to it. You can use a program like winamp at http://www.winamp.com to listen to FLAC files.

Then download a flac converter from this list:
http://www.mymusictools.com/download/flac-converter/
and you can convert them to mp3s. Once you convert them, you can burn them to a music CD-R and play it everywhere you go.

To burn it to a CD-R. Make sure you get a CD-R and not a CD-RW because most CD players will support CD-R CDs.

Then use any media player like Realplayer or even Windows Media Player. Make a playlist and add the mp3 files you want into the playlist. Then hit the "burn" or "record" button and it will record those mp3s into your CD as music files that are compatible with your CD players.

FLAC is Free Lossless Audio Codec, is a good codec for the audiophile out there. But honestly I can't tell much difference, could be the crappy speakers I have. But to burn it check out wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FLAC#CDDA_Burning there are a few good options there for getting it onto a CD.

You can try dBpowerAMP music converter. You can get it at download.com... when you browse their site, they have a FLAC codec you can use to convert your music. Or you can just download the codec by googling a FLAC codec and then you can play the mp3s in winamp or whatever you use. VLC player plays it I believe.. worth a shot either way, its a good free player. Try that..
