After that first box ran out and I realized it is too damn expensive. I've always used Gain and never had a problem!

With my son I stopped at around 12 months, but got smarter with my daughter and never even started. I do wash thier clothes seperate than our clothes but with the same detergent. As long as there are no allergies there should not be a problem.

Officially, I think you're supposed to use it until baby is 12 months, but it really is just a matter of whether your child has sensitive skin or not. If you're brave, you can try regular detergent. If baby reacts, then switch back. If you can handle the extra cost and hassle of washing baby's stuff seperate, it's probably better to stick with it until 12 months though.

I stopped once my son turned 1yrs old. Baby clothes are flame retardent and regular detergent washes it out, your baby could also have a skin reaction from regular detergent...but I never understood that...why would they have a reaction to it as babies but not later on?? Do whatever you want...unless you think your baby is going to start on fire..lol...I'm sure there are really poor people out there that can't afford to buy the baby detergent and end up using regular.

A week old. Actually she had tons of clothes so she wore plenty of stuff I'd washed in the samples of Dreft. Honestly I knew I had a healthy baby and didn't worry about wimpy tendencies like rashes and all that. :)

I never did use the baby detergent. I figured with as sensitive as my skin is, I would just use what I use on my clothing.

Never used it, but I did always wash only baby clothes together for the first four or five months.

Never did use those baby detergents with my kids. As long as they don't have sensitive skin and they are not allergic to your detergent you really don't need to.
