No, I do not believe ALL illegals rape, suck up welfare and trash this land. What I believe is that it is the ploy of the uneducated to justify the way they try to intimidate the users on the immigration category for seeing it from your perspective. I get the feeling they have personal issues behind it all. Nothing else explains the obsessive attack and dramatic insults.
These same people do not understand the word "reason." They are fear basing their approach to politics. The reality is hatred dresses up as patriotism. I understand what you want. Let's reason together, right? How do you reason with people who condescend because of legal status. You are on the side of morality and they are the side of legality. I like what you say, I deal with it in my business. I hire people who occupy the same cubic space as the infamous people who get cloned here. Common sense is not a virtue in this forum. I like your humility. Good luck in your legal battle.

I don't believe any "illegal" really does much of that, at least no more than citizens themselves do. My only issue with illegals is that they do take away from the job market. I know that the President and many lobbyists have said that all the jobs they fill are jobs that we do not want to do, but it is still wrong to give them permission to work here when they are not legally here. My other problem with it is that it undermines the years and monies invested to those immigrants that are here legally and went through the proper channels to gain citizenship. I personally think the best way to curtail illegal immigrants is to start sending the employers that hire them to jail for a year or two. This will then stop the problem from within and then you can worry about securing the border. Just a thought...

First off, if you travel around the world, you will see that we are by far one of the least racists countries you will ever find.
Next, no one wants to pay for it anymore... All of the states that have immigration issues have the worst and most expensive health care and the worst schools. The schools cannot afford books because they are not being compensated for the number of students that they have to serve. They also have to accommodate other languages, and they shouldn't. You do not see any other countries taking the kind of steps we do to accommodate people who should not even be here. And at the end of the day it all costs us money, even if we enjoy the hard work that they bring.
I am not saying that I do not respect anyone as an individual, and I do enjoy the fruits of some of the things they bring. The problem is that it creates more problems than it solves and we already have enough people who can't get jobs here.

According to a GAO study their were 262105 aliens in state and local prisons and 46000 in federal prison, 2003 figures. Add up to 308105 of an estimated 12 million illegal aliens, 2 1/2% in jail.
About two and a half percent in jail and 20% of those are just for immigration infractions.
The anti immigrant and anti illegal immigrant emotionalists get their propaganda from the anti illegal websites and organizations which have never used objective methods in determining truth.
They were formed to rationalize their agenda, which is to limit what they perceive to be non-white immigration.
These propaganda organizations take data out of context and deliberately misuse data.
One example is that they will take a data set attributable to all immigrants- such as welfare use- then say the larger figure applies to the illegal aliens when in actuality they rarely use any welfare at all, they are not eligible for it. Yet myths continue.
Hospitals close down in the inner city such as Los Angeles yet, they blame illegals, when actually it is the enormous strain by the constant gang shootings by natives. This myth continues.
They say illegals want their children taught in Spanish. But the propagandists ignore the fact that the South of the Border immigrants started the walkout-boycott of the bilingual education classes in 1996-7 in Los Angeles, starting the movement to eliminate - reduce it in California schools. But of course no one mentions that. There are many other examples. The anti immigrant groups are like the "know nothing" groups of the 19th century. Their founders and leaders are at best paleo conservatives who believe that American values are religious that can only be held by white protestants and that extensive immigration by non whites must be prevented.

America is overcrowded and dangerous. Not all illegals, just like not all Whites or Af. Americans. But they are illegal and committing crimes against citizens of the US. Those found guilty should not be given a 2nd chance and be deported back to their original country immediately with serious consequences if they return. Thousands of legal Americans or dirt poor, live in shacks drink and bathe out of a canal and they arent being helped at all, why have we helped the illegals at all? Thats the question. But of course there is a reason and Bush and only a few other people know why. We didnt have this problem when Clinton was in office.

Man this talk sounds more like Nazi Germany all the propaganda the finger pointing I hope there isn't a Hitler on the rice in the USA is easy to blame your neighbors for your own problems but hate them for it is dangerous god bless the USA p.s. fr chuck sounds like a Nazi.
You people love to use the word ILLEGAL does it make you feel in power? do you feel better than those who are not citizens of the USA?, you people already forgot that you came from the other side of the world where your rights had been trampled. The people you call illegal or Mexicans are native Americans who were traveling this side of the world ,we now call America (north and south) ,way before your ancestors had a notion of the world being round. You have colonized and conquered and turned native Americans into illegal aliens?! shame on you! it was not enough to take away their land and freedom so you could create yours?

You know, Gidget, your heart is in the right place but....
We have huge amounts of tax dollars going into supporting illegals in our nation. In Utah, 600 disable will lose benefits because the money is gone....we need to take care of our own first, and we aren't. Our poor, our sick, our elderly, our disable are losing out because the money pot is being drained by people who should not be here.
As for helping the less fortunate, American Citizens are some of the most generous and giving people on the planet. We spend incredible time and money "helping" people here and around the world. BUT it is our choice and should be....
By the way, my husband and I have been trying to get a young woman and her son to America. She has "done it right" in paperwork and jumping through hoops but she's now pushed so far back that it may take us years to get her here because of the illegals.
How about Social Security fraud. If I committed that crime I'd do time. It's a felony to steal someones identity. Illegals compound their illegal entry by stealing people's lives. Then those who have been victimized spend huge amounts of money trying to get their life back.
How do you feel about that?

On a personal level, I like most of the illegal people I have met (outside my law-enforcement experiences that is). However I do not feel that we owe them anything - they came here illegally. It is draining this country dry.
The national deficit per illegal household is in excess of $2000 and that number will jump to $7000 should they be given amnesty.
Social security is only going to be able to pay 74% of benefits due in 2040, I believe it will break under the additional load.

First of all, what do you think the word "illegal" means? It means THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE HERE! If they came here with all the proper paperwork and gotten their visas and green cards like they are supposed to, then employers would feel alot better about giving them legitimate jobs and they could feel like real americans.
I have been a tile and stone craftsman for 24 years. 20 years ago I could make a great living and not have to worry about money. Now I have to settle for doing the same job for LESS THAN HALF of what I made 20 years ago because people who snuck into this country are willing to do the same job for pennies because 20 members of their family are sharing an apartment and 19 of them are collecting welfare checks.
Do you seriously think I shouldn't be angry?

In addition to Father Chuck's words, I would also add than many illegals are getting a free education for they children without paying taxes. Money is sent back to Mexico instead of being spent and invested in the U.S. Illegal aliens who are paid under the table do not pay taxes and do not pay into social security. They drive without insurance. Yes, the are a drain on this nation and our open borders are a serious national security threat.
