Don't quote me, but it sounds like the same bore as an M-16, so I am going to say that, based on that speculation, it is similar to the M-16. Sorry I am not much help.

7.62 is a standard NATO round, so it could be a military weapon, but lots of sporting arms are chambered for NATO ammunition, because it is plentiful.
