I have heard of a lot of "tricks" to improve the function of the mind. The Mozart Effect has certainly received some attention. Specifically Sonata in D Major for Two Pianos. In short, the range of notes stimulates various parts of the brain, making it function more efficiently. Other ideas were to eat spinach or yogurt, because they contain a nutrient that cleanses the neurons. Another idea is to do mental exercises, like crossword puzzles, and simple memorizing games.

Of course there are the mnemonic devices, like "Every Good Boy Does Fine" (notes on a music scale) or ABC (Airway, Breathing and Compressions (CPR basics). Good luck with your quest for better memory.
