It depends on what kind of car you want. New or Used? SUV or sedan etc... For regular sedan type cars I would always recommend Toyota and Honda. The Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic are very reasonable, extremely reliable and low maintenance and easy on gas mileage. I had a 2001 Honda Civic which I put 119,000 miles and never had one problem. When I sold it it was still running great. I now have a Honda Accord with 31,000 miles and I expect it to go well above 120,000 miles.

Being in the military, I moved around all over the world. It was always more practical to sell my car and get another one in the new location, so I've bought a lot of cars.

The most reliable machines I've ever driven have been Nissans. They've even done better than the toyotas I've driven. Since I got out of the Navy, I bought a brand new Nissan Frontier and a Sentra. I love them both.

Find a Nissan you like!!!

All these answers are great, but what really matters is what your looking for in a car. You have to decide whether you want a fast car or one that is fuel efficient; whether you want a small car or one to haul all your friends around in. My advice, for what's is worth, is decide what your looking to get out of your car before you even think about deciding what car to get.
