It really depends on the type of cancer that they have. But the 5 year relative survival rate for all types combined is 65%--so between 6 and 7 survive.

It depends on the type of cancer and the stage. Also whether or not the cancer has spread to other parts of the body particularly the organs. Lung, esophgeal, and pancreatic cancers have low survival rates especially in later stages with 4 being terminal. I had stage 3 cancer and very happy to tell the story.

For how many years? The average is 6 years before you get cancer again, that is why most studies only look at 5 year averages it makes chemotherapy look good.

I know that each year approx 12,500 children are diagnosis with cancer and 75% survive. My son was diagnosis last year and is currently going through chemotherapy. There is hope. And prayers truly help.

2. I survived, 2 1/2 years free of it (lymphoma)
3. my mom in law, 2 months free from it (malinoma)
4. my aunt 10 years free (skin cancer)
5. my sister 12 years free (ovarian)
6. my uncle 7 years free (kidney)
7. my husbands aunt 4 years free (cervical)
8. friend of mine one year free (breast)
9 my friend died (spleen and brain)
10, my neighbor is still fighting, but looks hopeful.
In my case, 8 out of 10 will/have survived

unfortunatly they dont allow the cure for cancer in america, there is too much money in treating it to cure it. If u would like to find a cure for cancer, try seeking medical advise from a doctor from outside the USA.

More and more are surviving today when it is detected early. I know just as many survivors as those that lost their lives to it.
