This is not difficult. Here is all the information you need: just do exactly as it says, and don't try anything original ;-} "Shortcuts" often lead to tragedy, but the legal, correct process works fine. Good luck!
By the way, his degree has no bearing on his immigration; that depends on his relationship with you. However, for purposes of employment after he has immigrated legally to the US, his degree will probably be recognized.

This is kind of funny but I work for an Immigration Attorney in oklahoma and am also married to a man from Mexico. We have 5 kids together and have been married 12 years. He filed after being married about 7 years and to be honest (He is still waiting). I had to sponsor him and prove I made enough money to support the family so he would not become a burden on the state. Applying is not going to be hard it is just the lengthly process and wait. His degree is going to help him here but he WILL have to get certifications here by taking exams. ALSO..The Immigration process can be very expensive so be ready.

I married a guy from Mexico who was already here, although without papers. I live in Texas, and it was no problem getting married. When he got pulled over and deported, then that was a problem. Even if you are married, it takes at least two years to get the residency papers.
That is my two cents. It was a confusing process, and the people I know who do things "the right way" usually end up living in Mexico or apart from one another.
Unfortunately, he was a cheating liar, and we are now divorced, so I can't tell you how the legal process would have eventually worked itself out.
Best of luck with your situation. I believe that it will take luck, a good lawyer and lots of knowledge and commitment.

I say, be cautious, and don't take lightly all the answers here who said so. Many American citizens have been used by immigrants thinking that marrying an American is a way to circumvent the other legal means of coming to the USA. Don't just think people are being mean by telling you to be cautious. You may be on here later crying a different story.

My sister married a British man and then wanted to live in the US. Even though marrying a citizen makes the process a LITTLE faster, it's not a month or anywhere close to it. It'll be more than a month before they even get around to glancing at your paperwork. Expect it to take over a year.

Well is no so easy because you need be responsible for him for around 5 years, that's means you need have a good job or some one else a bunch a money in the bank, Virginia have a good employment opportunities but you need experience, the reason need a sponsor is because when you bring some one you can't do application for welfare, if have some health problem you are responsible for all the payments, if dint find a job can't have unemployment help, well ask to USCIS. have a nice day.

you could either marry him there and apply as a spouse, or have him comeover on a fiancee visa, butthen you have to be married w/i 90 days after he arrives..there is a site called loveme.com, that does this for men bringing women inthe country, and their attorney might be able to help you..it is really a good site for you to look at, they show the whole process on there, and give a phone number and email to ask questions..dont listen to all the people tellingto leave, but I would be careful aboutthe meal ticket thing, but that is tough to know.

Apply for a fiancee visa for your Mexican guy so that he can marry you in the US. After marriage, he can apply for work already considering that he has a bachelors degree. Good luck!
