Just wondering if there are any particular foods that are more suited for dealing with a fever. Common sense would dictate avoiding hot food and sticking with colder foods, but sometimes the most apparent answer isn't the right one.

Actually, there's no particular diet for fever alone. Fever is a sign of Infection. Your body is defending itself from something foreign and harmful that is why it increases the temperature..thus fever is present. You should first find out what is causing your fever before diving into a certain diet. Water may help.

You should starve both. If you don't feel like eating, than don't. When you lose your appetite (stress, sickness, grief), that is your body's way of self-healing. By taking away the desire to eat, your body can focus on repairing and fighting the illness instead of doing that, plus having to relegate energy for digesting food. Don't eat until you feel like it, but hydrate well. Water is something you can't go without. When you feel hungry, then you will know your body is doing better and is healing because it can spare the energy. Many religions fast during periods of times because it makes so much sense.

I know lots of water is needed because a fever will dehydrate you. As for foods that is new on me. I always thought you were suppose to starve a fever.

Starve a cold, feed a fever.

I assume carbs would help the body generate the energy it needs to fight what is ailing it.

Steak eggs and potatoes. Is my meal of choice, unless of course there is nausea. Then Jello.

I am not a doctor. Please don't take my advise if you do not feel comfortable taking the advice of a nobody.
