Don't you know that scientists are now disagreeing with the old theory that the universe is expanding from a central point now that they can see more of the universe? Why do people gamble their whole life on changeable scientific theory instead of God?

...what does an expanding universe have to do with god?

Naturalists who do not believe in god do so because they see no reason to believe that he exists. It has nothing to do with "wanting" or "not wanting" to believe anything. They look for the truth, regardless of whether or not it makes them feel better.

Moreover, pascal's wager (believing in god is the safest bet) is a false dichotomy. It is erroneous in that it assumes that there are only two choices available: believing in the christian god, or not believing.

In reality, there are many more choices available. Other religions, that is to say. Most of which claim you end up somewhere bad if you don't believe. No matter which belief you choose, therefore, you are almost certain to end up burning in hell, or some such thing.

Well, since God is pretty much surmised in a book, I'd say that science, at least, provides "proof" of things.

note the quotes around "proof"

In my opinion, none of it's more true than the other, but that's only logic, not a fact, apparently.

Do naturalists prove that the external world exists or do they assume it? Maybe the external world does not exist outside of some mind. How would science prove this is false? Can science prove that we are not not in the Matrix?

Theories are based on facts, and they've just gotten a new set that a new theory describes better. That's how science works.

Yeah, our lives are so affected by obscure scientific controversies. People never kill other people in the name of God...

I personally don't give a rat's *** how the universe was created. It won't change the price of Miracle Whip.

Scientists may disagree with each other, but it is religious leaders that have warred against each other.
