Who knows anything about Psychic Vampires?

I have just learned about this phenomenon, and am interested in learning more....

Many people drain those around them of life force energy (most people have stories about an ex like that) but there are some who can do it purposefully. They have the ability to reach out and drain a person's energy, and some are better at it then others. Some can contact you from far away in the vision realm after having looked you in the eyes and made a karmic connection, and take your energy. But the best is when they can just reach out and take it, draining a person until they fall on the floor. They say it's far better than caffeine. These are the energy vampires.

One time I was doing energy work to adjust people's chakras with singing bowls, and had a sign up which said, "Energy". Several energy vampires came to the booth thinking that it was like a bar for vampires to get energy. They might have gotten some energy from it, but mostly I learned a lot about how vampire energy works. What most struck me was that all the chakras were open except for the base chakra which was completely blocked. One wore shoes with extremely thick rubber soles to help block the grounding energy. They didn't draw energy from the earth, and grounding limits the excursions into the vision realm.

I have a good friend who can willfully drain energies. She's the only energy vampire I know who only uses her power for good. She takes people's headaches. She also has an amazing ability to sense energies, making her one of the most powerful witches I know (I know a lot of witches who claim to be powerful, but very few who actually are). I have known her for many years and we are very close friends.

There are people who could fall under that categorization. They are people that (generally) feed off the energy of other people. Most of them are unaware that they are energy magnets (to use a less volatile term for it). If you happen to be a sensitive, and encounter such a person, you could walk away from the encounter feeling tired or drained for no apparent reason. If you have this feeling upon repeated encounters with that same person, it could be a good indicator that they are that type of person - either knowingly or not.

Now, to stretch to the more incredible aspect of your question, are there people who knowingly prey on the energy of other people, thereby strengthening themselves in the process - unfortunately, the answer is yes. Fortunately, there are not that many of them and you may well go through life and (hopefully) never encounter one. Not a pleasant experience at all. Not the kind of company one should seek out.

Anton LaVey wrote about psychic vampires in "The Satanic Bible" (not a devil worship book, trust me). His idea of a psychic vampire is simply a person who thrives on controlling you. For example - a person who is your "friend" or aquaintance constantly does things for you, unasked and sometimes unwanted, and never ever asks for a favor in return...and then, at the worst possible time(s), asks a really big favor from you, knowing that you most likely will not be able to comply...then they guilt trip the heck out of you for a long time over it.
That's LaVey's take on it....I'm not sure what a V:tM vampire would have to say on the subject. :)

well its true they are there. in modern terms they are called drama queens. i am not kidding they are one in the same. both a psychic vampire and a drama queen go to incredible lengths to draw your attention. this is because just attention is an incredible energy draw. then to further the draw on energy they pull you into a drama story getting you to have feelings one way or another ( looking for the more powerful draws of energy of sympathy and fear) and in the entire time they themselves care nothing for the drama that they pull you into thus not expending any energy of their own. if you want to know more there are some good books on it. i dont remember the names off hand but the 2 i am thinking of are both published by llewellyns in st paul minnesota.

A lot of people are psychic vampires and don't even know it. Anytime someone sucks someone else's energy, without their consent, that is an unethical practice. We all have energy to give and can draw energy from all elements, but we should NEVER take energy from a source without asking.

There's more'n one definition for that term. One is a person who seems to bring your energy level down by either: 1) being down all the time, or 2) being so up that they exhaust you. Another definition is someone who feeds on your chi, exhausting you, and yet a third is someone who feeds on emotional energy, i.e., lust, or joy, or tension. Please define what you are asking.
