No, you chose not to believe. You and you alone, so please stop trying to find someone else to point the finger at, you did it, you chose your path.

Hope it works for you.

You are the only one who can answer that question because you know if you were programmed or not. But the main reason why people dont believe in God is because they feel life is out of their control and tehy feel disspointed about the direction their llife is going or where it has been. They think if there is really a God then why did this or that happen. But you see by thinking this they already prove that there is a God because they automatically and unknowing expect that if there is a God he is good and loving and would not allow bad things to happen. But God is real he is very real and I have seen him do great things in my life like heal me from mental disorders, get me off drugs, and help me get my life together. If he was not real I would be dead that is for sure. But if you are looking for him I would advise that you look for him yourself and not through any religion. Religion tends to blind people to specific beliefs about who God really is and what he does and does not do. So get a bible read it and ask God to show himself to you so that you can believe and if you are sincere, he will.

No, actually you were not programmed by your parents to believe in God. Most of those beliefs are held by people who were taught religion as truth before they even entered school or could think for themselves. Count yourself fortunate - shedding this type of programming is a stone cold b**99

Maybe it's because God has never been real to you or you have not had a reason to believe. God doesn't go thumping people on the head saying believe in me. Many of his believers do that but not God Himself. God is not some man or physical creation that sets on a cloud but is best described as a Spirit with all power and knowing. A person can only believe in God when he or she is enabled to be able to believe. The enabling is done by the Holy Spirit of God who opens the persons mind, emotions, and spirit to enable them to realize that God really exist. Once you know God really exist the desire to know God and believe in him will be there. To man God provided only one way to satisfy his requirements to know him and to even warrant approaching God and that is through the Blood of Jesus Christ. By Blood of Jesus Christ I mean only that Christ died and the blood that He shed was a sacrifice for all mankind to enable them to be clean enough to be presentable before God. It is only when God's Holy Spirit opens our minds to those Spiritual truths that we have the ability to Believe. Everyone is sinful and does not seek God but those that are open and receptive God will seek and find.

On the contrary, most people are "programmed" to believe in God and some kind of religion.
You somehow were able to see the truth.

only your mind dictates what you want to believe in... right now, you're questioning your doubts.... as if you were programmed to do so, therefore you may believe someone did programmed you and by doing so, you believe there is a higher power out there (a God maybe) who did you in.... as in a Star Wars quote "search you're feelings, you know it is true".... Good Luck, though.....

Maybe the people who raised you didn't care about God or know about God enough to teach you about Him, or show you His love in the way they live their lives. But you HAVE heard about him. Now it's up to you to learn about Him.

Let's say your parents were astronauts and you were born on the moon and you lived there all your life. Then one day you hear about this Rock and Roll music, but you don't know what it is like or what it sounds like or how cool it is, but you have no feeling or interest in it at all. Were you programmed to have no feeling or interest in it? No, you just weren't exposed to it because you lived on the moon.

Because there is no more proof of a god's existance than there is of elves and werewolves.

Whether programmed or by choice, consider yourself lucky that you haven't succumb to this mass delusion.
