Because all you get is text from Websites like Wikipedia. That is often a copyright violation. Copy-and-pasters frequently get their answers rated as "best answer", earning them 10 points, though an answerer who put some effort in real resarch don't get the reward they deserve.

And what does this question have to do with religion and spirituality?
There is nothing wrong with people looking up the answer to a question and providing the answer. As long as they cite the source, it is not a copyright infringement.

is there any special reason, you're in the wrong category?!

I wouldn't call people stupid when they use wikipedia as a source (don't know about the copyright stuff). I see why it might be a little frustrating, but that's how it works on public internet platforms that allow pretty much anyone to say anything. and yahoo answers allows you to pick an answer you like best, which is a very subjective decision and doesn't have to be based on anything.

I'll keep putting effort into my answers because otherwise it wouldn't make much sense to me to write here, and I rather do it to share my 2 cents (in hope to give someone some useful advice) than getting anywhere with the points I get... =)

Such is life! Since the individual that asked the question gets to choose the Best Answer - I don't know what the problem is! Believe me, your answers and anybody else's will get a shot at Best Answer! I'm sure quite a few best answers that are chosen - are not chosen because someone did research! I truly hope that no one is participating in this forum looking for true, accurate, and scientific answers or information - I would hope they look to different sources! I think this is basically an activity of fun - not serious information! I have all the proper resources for that - this is fun, entertainment, and communication - that's it!
Anyone looking at this as 'the source' - needs to look somewhere else!

Finally I can see some people answered your question, but not earlier either because they are doing exactly what you said, or because they are afraid of sounding stupid. Sometimes, like tonight, it seems like most of the good questions have dried up. I have trouble finding something I am interested in, so I browse for humor or a question I can try to make a joke from. Sometimes people are so lazy. They can't even bother to look up the simplest things on the Internet, and I have to do research for nothing. Here's an example. I like to answer questions asking for suggestions for names for cats and kittens. I look up different foreign names, names of conquerors, explorers sports stars, but how can you expect someone to give you an original name if you don't tell them a few simple facts about the cat's color, sex and personality. In the end they probably choose something like "Fluffy" or "Pumpkin", but I enjoy writing my answer. Tonight I actually gave a really good answer to a terribly provocative political question. Guess what? The question was deleted. Personally I don't like answers that are too long (though sometimes I give them too) or contain too much pasted material. Sometimes I think some people -especially really young ones - would find anything more challenging than Wickedpedia too much. (I'm bushed). G'night. You can delete this question if you like. I won't mind.

This is just a fun, lame thing to do for bored people without going out in the heat and spending money. Don't take it seriously...

Maybe the stupid people are the question askers who encourage copying and pasting

No one should even be USING Wikipedia...it's not a good source...any pea-brain can edit it.

Academics never accept it as a proper resource.

That and that a lot of people are just taking it all as a joke. Copy and pasted answers aren't as bad as answers like:
"Look it up"
"I don't"
"not sure"
"***** you"
"how can you be so stupid?"
"you're disgusting"
"why would you think of that?"
