it says "sell by". that was 6-7 weeks ago. i probably wouldn't use them, but if you decide to use them, before you do, try this. see if they float in a bowl of water. if they do, throw them away, they are no good. if you want to try it, break each egg into a cup, smell it, if it has an off smell, forget them. don't take the chance. if the time was less, i would be more likely to use them but, if you can, get new ones. always watch your date when buying. some store will have a great price on eggs that they want to get rid of because of the expiration date. they can't legally sell them after that. you can get salmonella from raw eggs.

Egg shells are porous. Chances are they picked up the scent and taste of any other items you have something actually growing in your fridge. The bottom line test is to take a bowl of water and put the eggs in one at a time. The bad ones will float. The others are a turkey shoot and as others pointed out.... just get some new ones baring the price and the outcome of uncertainty.

Eggs stay fresh quite a bit past the sell date. To test the freshness, drop the egg into a glass or bowl of water. If the egg sinks, it is fresh. If it drops to the bottom of the water, but stands on end, it's not as fresh, but is still fine to eat. If the egg floats it is bad.

Eggs are usually cool for about 3 months in a fridge that hasnt lost power. Eggs last for about 6 months to a yr when they are never refridgerated. Crack and egg open and if the yolk just "gives way" on its own then they are probley old and beware.

A way you can tell if the eggs are ok is you fill a jug or pot with water and put the eggs in. If the eggs float, they are no good, but if they sink, they are fine.

the date they put on eggs is very long after they are packaged in the first place, as long as they are refridgerated they keep--But, after that date they would not be good a month and a half later.
There's grade AA, A, B and rotten, and these would be rotten!

Umm... no. I would throw them out. Eggs aren't something you want to mess with... you can get very sick from eating expired eggs and also expired meats/dairy products.

When you crack them open, you'll be able to tell if they are bad. If they look and smell fine, eat away. They usually keep for much longer than the expiration date.
