I have never had my id scanned. They look at the #s and put in my birth date. Also the bottle has a UPC that is on every bottle of that kind. They don't have different UPCs for each bottle. So I don't think so.

Not to the exact bottle but yes to the type/brand,etc...at 7-11 when they check your ID they scan it and it takes a pic of the ID used with the sale.Their main purpose is CYA for allegations of selling to underage

Must be something where you live, Since there is no doubt I am over 21 ( look at my photo) I have not been asked for an ID for years.
Here you go in, make your choice, if they do ask to see an ID, you just show it, and they check birth date, that is all.
Bottles, to my knowledge have a product code, it will show type and size, but not speicfic bottle,
Now stores like Kroger and others use a store ID card to get discounts, if you use those in those stores, they record every item you buy there, Stores like Office Depo and Staples do simular things.

Alcohol guidelines are frequently very unusual. and they are likely the most misunderstood and mis-quoted guidelines that we've. It sounds about acceptable that a minor can not carry alcohol to the look at stand, nor carry it on your automobile. or possibly the cashier purely thinks that! the position I stay, if there's a minor contained in the automobile, you're meant to carry alcohol contained in the trunk of your automobile. i became informed this many years in the past by employing Alcoholic Beverage fee adult men who confronted me outside a liquor keep when I had 2 21 three hundred and sixty 5 days olds and one 20 three hundred and sixty 5 days previous contained in the automobile. Frankly, I by no potential fairly believed that that's authentic. i imagine he became purely searching to hardship some youthful, extremely women! i ought to characterize that you bypass on line and search for the Alcoholic Beverage Code on your jurisdiction.

Not in Alabama. They just check your I.D., they don't scan anything except the item you are buying. Now if you are using a check or debit card, I am not sure. There might be a way to connect the bar code from the bottle to your debit/credit card.

I don't think so. I am assuming they run your I/D through a machine to validate it.
When a store scans a bottle of liquor or beer, it is a upc code, and is the same on every bottle of the same liquor. They may be able to trace you to buying that type of liquor, but not specific bottle.

Yes. Walmart has started that for law enforcement. They can tell you who bought it, when they bought it, what store they bought it, and what time they bought it.
It doesn't stop at Alcohol. It will be everything you buy at walmart.
