My sister was a hair dresser and she said the norm is usually 10-20%. It also depends on the service, is it just a cut or cut and color?
I usually give ten dollars on my cut and color service and about 5-6 dollars on just a cut. For eyebrow wax I usually give 3 dollars.
One thing to remember is that most of the stylists don't get the full price of the haircut, they get paid after the owner of the salon gets paid. So while a cut and color may cost 80-120 dollars, they are not getting that in it's entirety.

Well I look at it this way....If my hair doesnt look good...I dont look good.
I have a favorite stylist that knows exactly what my hair will do 5 seconds after I leave the salon and she cuts it accordingly.
My cuts usually run around 25 bucks and I always give her at least another 20 so thats close to a 90 % tip....besides.. I cant even imagine being on my feet all day like they do.

I am from a small town and have cut and styled hair for 30 years. A tip is appreciated a great deal, even if it is 1,2,5 or more.To hair stylist that have a good business with people that have been return patrons for years the stylist usually knows what a client can afford and people on a fixed income that comes to you can not afford as much as some others can, believe me your stylist knows when she is appreciated and when she is not.Its nice to be appreciated.Just remember just how bad you wanted that hair cut or you wanted to come at the last minute or just how good it was that she worked you in or she held that time for you.

Tipping is getting out of hand. It's ridiculous! They put tip jars up at Subway now! Everyone and their freaking brother expects a tip! I stopped tipping at all places where it has not been traditional. If you really must, don't use a percentage especially for a haircut. Some of these fancy places charge upwards of $50 for a haircut! $2 max.

I believe that 15-20% is supposed to be the going rate for hairdresser tips as well.

The only time I tip my hairdresser is if she works me in without an appointment or creates a hairstyle that I ask for and it looks exactly how I want it to look. Even then, she only gets an extra 5 bucks.

it is always good to remember these guys and gals paid money to learn how to make you look beautiful. 20% to 30% depending on your new look. If it is a really good do----30% If you can barely make out the new do---10% But if you can appreciate the work and effort and the chat while performing this miracle----20%.

Depends on how much the hair cut is. My girl uses me as a hair model (btw being a hair model means you get your hair cut for free ladies!). So I tip her $20 for cutting my hair for free. And this is at Tony & Guy, a pretty well known salon.

the top on cow tipping is to make specific to avid the cow pies.. they may be crusted over, besides the undeniable fact that, they are moist and steamy under the crust.. Plus you will sink up on your ankles. whilst i replaced right into a cub, we rented out our pasture to a guy with livestock. including a shaggy dog tale: do you be conscious of the thank you to tell a city Boy from a u . s . Boy? Take them to an open pasture with livestock and function them race to the different component. whilst they attain the different component, verify the backside of their shoes. the city Boy will step in it each and every time.
