Maybe, just maybe the Encyclical written in 1968; Humane Vitae got it right when it said:

the man, growing used to the employment of anti-conceptive practices, may finally lose respect for the woman and, no longer caring for her physical and psychological equilibrium, may come to the point of considering her as a mere instrument of selfish enjoyment, and no longer as his respected and beloved companion.

could it be that artifical birth control has aided in the demise of our culture?

I agree with you completely. If you liked Humane Vitae, you will enjoy

Love and Responsibility by Karol Wojtyla (under this name not JPII)

I think we are already seeing what you said. If you look at Europe, most of the countries are not having enough births to replace the current population. America is just barely. All religions, Protestant groups, and Catholic Dioceses that are dying off are the ones that use contraception and abortion.

The genocide against the African American family has devastated our inner cities (thanks planned parenthood!). People should really take the time to look at the statistics (as well as the history) and see what happened. You might live there so you would know firsthand of what I speak. It is a terrible terrible thing and no one wants to talk about it, save for a few.

Women have suffered terrible because of contraception and abortion, but so too have men. We are taught by society to dehumanize our partners. It deprives men from truly loving a human woman.

Man never needed an excuse before for the lose of respect for women or anyone.

One of the main problems is the lack of respect in general, for thierself, for others, and for the truth.

Next life has no or little value, we can kill babies, in worst ways than even Hitler would have considered and call it a protected right, we can kill the disabled, and are eyeing the elderly to start killing them off when thier life no longer has value, and are already making it ok for them to kill thierself.

What is going to destroy our culture, abuse of freedom, freedom not controled by the moral fiber of the group is a very destructive thing. No real democratic nation ever lasts much more than 200 to 300 years.

Very likelie, Karol Cardinal Wojtyla(later to become Pope John Paul II)was right when he wrote Humane Vitae.

He received alot of ridicule over his writings, but, towards the end, the world saw him for exactly what he was: a Man of God!!!

Thank you so much!

I was getting really upset reading the answers to an earlier post about the Pope and condoms. I was absolutely astounded to see people calling our popes "idiots," saying that they were just bitter because of their celibacy, and that the pope is a fool who is in charge of pedophiles.

I'm a Catholic seminarian, and when I read all of this, it just felt like I was stabbed right through the heart. Truly, nothing is sacred anymore. You have no idea how much this post means to me! God bless you!

Nice quote - I would have to agree on what you have stated. In our cultuer especially, we have seen women being treated as pleasure "vehicles" that only are here to satisfy man. Well, that is wrong. A woman was created as the partner for a man. Not as a pleasurable experience.

Oh for Pete's sake!

No.

"Artificial Birth Control" keeps us from having to support MORE of irresponsible people's kids than we already have to.
