To any guys out there reading: Why do men douse themselves in cologne/Axe body spray?

If you know any that do, can you please smack them upside the head????

1. 90% of colognes stink like some sort of ammonia bathroom cleaner. Axe is the worst. If you are a male between the ages of 11 and 14, and you want to appear more adult, do not shower yourselves in Axe. Everyone knows only middle schoolers and hs freshmen take Axe showers.

2. Lots of people are allergic to excessive perfume and cologne. Don't they know it's rude to walk around like you just bathed in Old Spice? They could trigger an allergic reaction.

3. If you have a good sense of smell, and have managed to find a non-offensive-smelling cologne, ONE OR TWO SPRITZES IS ENOUGH!!!

4. If you've just finished excersizing and are all sweaty, spraying cologne WILL NOT COVER UP THE SMELL. It will only make you smell ten times worse. Taking a shower will take the smell away, cologne will not.

And yes...women that do this are annoying too.

Probably 'cause some girl they liked said she liked it. I gave up on cologne a long time ago. None of the colognes out there for men smell "fresh". They all make a guy smell like a woodsman or a used car salesman.

I have to disagree with you...I think Axe smells sort of nice. It's no Aqua di Gio, but it'll work. :)

I do, however, agree with you that it's incredibly annoying when people "bathe" in cologne or perfume. Ever heard that old saying...less is more? Even if it's an expensive, really nice smelling cologne, too much of a good thing is bad.

It's especially annoying to me when women do this. As a woman, I have my favorite perfumes that I wear on a regular basis, but I know how much is enough. I absolutely hate it when a woman gets on the train and sits next to me and she's used the body wash, body lotion, dusting powder AND the eau de parfum...OMG. And it's ALWAYS something that smells like Raid, I swear.

The first thing men & women need to know about fashion is that a little of anything goes a long way. Especially cheap cologne like AXE. To me it smells like a little boy trying to be a man. PHEW!!!

The ads suggest drizzling your body in AXE will make for auto chick-magnet, not to mention the more you use per application, the more trips you have to go to the store and buy more.

I use it....and find that just a little spritz here and there suffices.

A man's sense of smell, in general, is not as good as a woman's. Not to mention the fact that you often cannot smell yourself (because you get used to the smell).

So, the man doesn't realize that he stinks. Besides, the TV & other ads tells guys to wear the stuff to get girls. People assume that ads legally cannot lie (But most people don't realize that ads can legally exaggerate.).

Without any other source of advice, people simply believe the ads.

I love the way a guy smells when he wears Axe. I like when a guy wears Cologne or axe. It wears off on the clothes they are wearing so if you borrow a jacket or a hoody it smells like your guy.

My roommate does this, though he uses Gravity [by Coty], and the bathroom just stinks to high heaven afterward. In his defense he is being stalked by a deaf, blind ninja who relies entirely on olfactory senses to locate his quarry so, for my roommate anyway, the heavy use of cologne is necessarily employed as camouflage.

I wish girls would just pounce on you for smelling good the world would be a much better palce.

cuz the commercials have led them to believe, as many other things marketers have done, that the more axe you have one, the more women gather around you, as for me... i hate the way it smells but still put it on from time to time, why? same reason every one else does, the chicks
